one of the first things i do when installing a new ROM is to turn the sound off on the camera and video recorder
/system/media/audio/ui
rename
camera_click.ogg to camera_click.ogg.old
VideoRecord.ogg to VideoRecord.ogg.old
use root explorer (app)

Just install it, use titanium backup to make it a system app and then freeze the yucky one and it will even replace the icon on the lockscreen

How do you use titanium to make it a system app?

Unreliable Rom. Freezes and restarts all the time. I thought this Rom was good, so I got my friend to install as well. He is having the same issues of Freezes and Restarts.
Sounds like you did something wrong on your install
this ROM is solid
Can you explain your install method in detail? someone may be able to help if we know your steps

Looks like two people that did not do something correctly....

any body else having problems with the brightness dimming on unlock or screen turn on, and staying dim?
Nice to see I'm not the only one with this issue. Happens every single time after the screen has turned off...doesnt matter if I set brightness to 100% or automatic.
Besides that....followed all instructions, rom is solid and smooth.

I wouldn't be so dismissive. I know I've done everything right and had a lot of freezes and overall lag & unresponsivness. I have 211 stock on the non-safe side, wiped data, cache, dalvik, and system prior to install. I didn't restore any system apps, etc. Did everything I did with R3Ds ics rom and had no issues with it. If I'd had more time I'd have pulled you a logcat, but had something come up. Just wanted to let you know...

Redownload the rom check MD5, wipe data factory reset, your in the minority its not the rom I have it running on two devices using the same install method.
I did all that and more last time as I already stated a couple posts back (didn't mention MD5 but I always check it). I'll try tomorrow again if I have time. Thanks though...

Just wanted to report a few bugs Ive had with your ROM. Other than these few bugs I have had it's been an excellent ROM so far. It was the 1st ROM I ever flashed when I was on GB.
1) I am not getting ack backs when sending text messages. I like to know that the people I am sending texts to are getting them. I get a red triangle with an exclamation point in it. Didn't have that problem when I was stock rooted or on Arctic.
2) Sometimes when in landscape mode I can't move icons or folders from one screen to another without putting the phone in a portrait tilt and then back to landscape.
3) Sometimes when I hit the apps button in the tray on the bottom or side I get no app icons displayed or widgets. If I force close the app in app management or open the Play Store they come back.
So anyhow this what I have found so far. I don't mean to send you problems but hopefully it helps. If you have any questions you can email me @ mark.k3itg@gmail.com or call/text me at 386-855-1280.
Thanks for all the work you do,
Mark
