In case somebody run into this gpt invalid situation, here is what I did :

Flashed GPT and TZ only by fastboot from 4.4.2 OTA as suggested by Kabaldan at XDA. And all is good.

Thanks for all .

The next version of House of Moto is going to be extremely complex to write.  I'll be setting up a new thread for user testing.  Yes, that's right, user testing.  I'll be releasing a package that will test FXZ's.  It will *NOT* be used to flash anything.  Just to collect data against as many FXZ's as possible to make sure the logic in place isn't going to brick a phone.  I won't release the new version until it's been THOROUGHLY tested in the testing thread.  I'm not sure when I'll have the code ready for testing but hopefully this week.

Thought for the new version... on that first screen where one would either select the FXZ or exit, add options for test or validate device.  These would then issue a "fastboot devices" or "fastboot getvar all" command (or other if you know something better) to ensure communication with the device.  Either script up a testing of what gets returned or instruct the user "you should see something like this in the next step" and provide a simple example of the fastboot command's output.  Before the user even selects an FXZ they should confirm fastboot is ready to go.  If that test fails then they have something to investigate before they start complaining the FXZ flash isn't working.

Just tossing out an idea FWIW.

Had that kind of crap in the House of Bionic and removed it from the House of Moto.  I expect more from my users than to have to babysit them.  When it says on the screen "you should be in AP Fastboot mode and here's how you do that"....well, I expect them to follow it and do it.  If they don't, not my pig, not my farm.

Its 100% worth having a folder on your computer all set up, so that if something happens to your phone you just have to connect and click a few buttons. This is by far one of the most user friendly recovery tools around... And its so simple to setup if you just read.

Will the next version support Droid Turbo? I tried to check the FXZ site, but it's currently down.

Edit: Sorry, I just found the forum. My bad.

There's a plan in place to get working links to the latest and greatest FXZ's for each device.  Until then, with SBF being gone and motofirmware being a mess, it'll take some ingenuity to find things.  In you case, look here and make sure to look for xt907 firmware.

Thanks for your fast response. I am assuming what I found and downloaded is valid for me since it matches my current setup or do I instead find the most new?

Just putting this out there... If the XT907 has similar updates as the XT926, don't just jump to the latest FXZ if your bootloader isn't unlocked yet. The latest may break your ability to re-root or ever unlock your bootloader. FWIW...

Stick with what you currently have for now.  Only upgrade if it's the last resort.

Thanks.  My husbands xt907 went red eye about 2 weeks ago and we took it to the local Cell phone repair place which pronounced it dead.

I was able to get it up and working using your step by step instructions.  I will be donating as soon as I finish thanking you.

THANK YOU AGAIN.

If you're on Windows then clicking on a script designed for Linux and Mac probably isn't going to work so well. Read, read again, and read one more time.
