Just wanting to make sure this your tool will work for what I am wanting to do.  I have an unlocked razr maxx HD running Kitkat and unrooted as well.  All I need to do is unroot the phone so I can turn it back in to work, and it will work without getting errors when trying to upgrade etc.  Based on reading this thread from start to finish 3 times- the RSD flasher instructions will work.  Just wanted to make sure before I started the process is all.

I am new to this but hate the fact that I have no control over my device hence my attempts to gain some rudimentary knowledge on the subject.
Thank you for all the helpful posts but after many hours of searching and learning I still haven't found the answer.

I removed the three "getvar"entries before flashing
After the first flash attempt my phone returned a "sticky hit" message in the fastboot mode and it always returns to fastboot when booting up the phone.
That I don't care about but I want to understand why it won't flash

On another thread @snowman mentioned that he downgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2.

I am confused reading your comment "you cannot flash backwards". So, downgrading from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 is not possible?

Bootloader is unlocked but we lost root on 2nd October while upgrading to Kitkat.

If your bootloader is unlocked then you never "lose root". Perhaps you've never learned how to properly maintain root on an unlocked phone but that only means you haven't paid attention to the sticky posts in this section. Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
