One of the following:

o) You're not using a USB 2.0 port that is directly attached to the machine...i.e. not a hub

o) You're not using the original cable that came with the phone (yes, it matters)

o) Your drivers are corrupt.

Typically the Motorola phones work directly in Ubuntu .... no need to "manually install" the drivers.....:)

Perhaps the first or third thing, yes. The cable does not matter as much. I have no idea which of my several cables even came with my phone and I have never had a problem.

Yea, it's going to be painful to fix I guess.  He said 2 hdd failures and the other guy is on a 12 hour difference so fixing it is going to be a pain.

Perhaps, when a certain file is needed, a request can be posted and someone who has it could link it. Just until that server comes back online.

I don't have any of them as I no longer have a Moto phone, so, I hope the idea isn't for people to PM me and ask.  I will promptly delete any such PM's.

I have both 4.2.2 and 4.4 SBF files but, alas, no where to host them.

Be careful.  Downgrading isn't possible.  If you're on 4.1.2, you'd need the 4.1.2 FXZ.

I will give that a shot thank you very much, the only concern I have is that I don't have a Razr maxx but I was under the assumption the xt912 covered the razr as well.  My phone showed xt912 in the about phone section.
