All set now, thanks--assuming they were just going through maintenance, whole site was down for a little while other than your typical admin "we're down doing stuff" banner. Thanks!

Cool thanks, (you mentioned it in the other thread but no link, so I thought it might be included in the zip). If anyone else is following along, that address is
I installed that, and I am having a little trouble proceding:
I have C:\HouseOfMoto\unlocked_root_1.0\twrp-hdrecovery.img (as well as the other files in the unlocked_root_1.0 folder from the zip)
I put my phone in AP Fastboot mode then run C:\HouseOfMoto\unlocked_root_1.0\run.bat (I originally ran the HouseOfMoto.bat, but I didn't think I wanted any of those, since I had taken the OTA update I don't believe I can run the FXZ now):
Select Recovery:1) TWRP2) CWMe) EXIT1Do you need to flash twrp-hdrecovery.img recovery? [y/n]: yerror: device not found< waiting for device >sending 'recovery' (6678 KB)...OKAY [ 0.601s]writing 'recovery'...OKAY [ 2.201s]finished. total time: 2.802srebooting...finished. total time: 0.005sWait for phone to fully reboot before continuing.Press any key to continue . . .
I think this is where it should be booting into recovery? It reboots into normal mode, and the dialog on the screen from the bat wants me to be in advanced>sideload, which I'm sure is referring to the recovery software.

Once you flash recovery it reboots to the phone. It'll then reboot into recovery after that. If it's not doing that you could reboot into recovery manually I guess. I'm not at home so I can't do much at the moment.

It doesn't appear to be flashing the recovery, looks like I am still on stock.

Okay, I'm screaming mercy at this point. I can troubleshoot iSCSI from end to end, but I can't apparently get the *#$@ file in the right place/nomenclature, it would seem. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Why? I need more than a log...I kinda need to know what the problem is that you're having. It's setup right and fastboot sees your phone.

Well, I did say that it wasn't well tested. LOL. There's definitely a bug in my script. It sort of forgets to boot the damn thing into recovery mode. It's not something I can test myself since I don't own any moto phones that can use it. However, you say it didn't flash recovery but I say it did given the output above. When you boot recovery manually (power off, hold volume up and volume down, press power, volume down to recovery, volume up to select it) does TWRP not boot? You can start in recovery and tell it no to flashing and it should continue from there.

*facepalm* Nevermind the guy who complains about customers that don't give problem statements that just in fact didn't give a problem statement...
When I attempt to run the .bat, I get this:
I'm not really getting why it doesn't see the FXZ; I can't even get far enough to attempt the flash yet--talk about feeling n00bish. I'll blame it on the antibiotics I'm on. Am I missing something? I've followed your directions to a T, and it seems to mirror what others have succeeded with... but no dice so far for me.
Thanks

It's finding the FXZ just fine. What it's not finding is the scripts. And I seriously don't understand why. Your log looks ok. You are running the bat file FROM the C:\HouseOfMoto directory right? You're not trying to run it from a shortcut or anything? I'm not understanding how this issue is happening so I'm just trying to figure out what could be different.

Correct--Straight from C:\, no shortcuts. Windows 8R1, nothing fancy on the bare metal (I have a fair bit of crap floating around in my VirtualBox setup, but that doesn't affect the Windows core at all).
I'm glad to know it's not just me this is confusing, I was beginning to think I'd fallen victim to something completely obvious that I was overthinking. I'll keep poking at it...

When I boot into recovery manually, I get the "dead droid." Also, if I open "flashify" and go to the backup/restore tab, it says I am on stock recovery.

Something is really freaking strange there. It's just not seeing the stuff that's there. And I don't know why. I'm running 8.1 and it works here. I honestly don't know what is wrong. I can't think of anything that'd cause that to happen.

heh, yup (that's why I posted here before trying it, I didn't feel confidant in my abilities to run it unsupervised). When I boot into recovery manually, I get the "dead droid." Also, if I open "flashify" and go to the backup/restore tab, it says I am on stock recovery.
I posted 1.1. See if it helps. It may not. Who knows. If not, we'll see what's going on.

It went a little differently, but the end result is still the same.
First noticeable difference is that i put the files in C:\HouseOfMoto\root instead of C:\HouseOfMoto\unlocked_root_1.0, so that gave me the option from the HouseOfMoto.bat ®
Second difference was after it [thought it] installed TWRP and booted into normal mode, it then booted into recovery.
Unfortunately, it was the dead droid stock recovery (probably an error on my part?) Here is the echo:

I apparently missed a few things. But it's not flashing twrp. I don't know why it's not flashing that. It also doesn't like my new fastboot version. Lovely. I hate Moto. I really truly dislike them. You'll have to flash twrp manually:
fastboot flash recovery twrpfilenamegoeshere
in AP Fastboot mode. I'll fix my script errors but it won't change anything.

Pardon friend, I think I'm doing something wrong, and hoping to shed some light on it. I'm running the linux version of your program, and I'm getting the following error:
I've read the directions over a couple of times, and I don't think I've missed anything. Hoping another pair of eyes can shed some light on this.
Thank you in advance.

It should have copied fastboot.linux to the FXZ directory while it runs the script. Seems like it's not finding it for some reason.

Ok, I'll manually copy it, and see what happens. Will report back

Shouldn't have to do that. That's what I'm saying. Something seems wrong but I'm not sure what.

I must be doing something wrong, this isn't installing TWRP either.
