No, do me a favor.  You need to follow this VERY carefully.

 

o) In the C:\HouseOfMoto\utils directory, rename snapdragon-fastboot.exe to snapdragon-fastboot.old

o) In your  C:\HouseOfMoto\FXZ_xt1080\Windows directory you'll find a fastboot.exe and a dll.  Copy them to your C:\HouseOfMoto\utils directory

o) Rename the fastboot.exe file you just copied in the C:\HouseOfMoto\utils directory to snapdragon-fastboot.exe

 

Run it again and post the results of the flash, please.

Excellent.  If it works I'll likely make a change to the HoM to detect when an FXZ brings their own fastboot to the game and default fastboot mode to using it.  But that's not an overly quick rewrite of the code so it may be tomorrow before I get that done.  Assuming, of course, this works.

Sure why not.  If it booted, though, it worked.  Ok, that's good to know.  I think I'm going to tackle the code change tomorrow.  Won't this be fun.  Thanks for trying that.

You'll need a new FXZ version to fix that.  You've basically tried to flash an older version and the security kicked in and told you what you can go do with yourself.  LOL.  That sucks.  Sorry to see that.  Just keep checking for the new FXZ.  In fact, it MAY have been posted already on the FXZ site in my OP.  If that's the new one you're flashing and you still get that, um, *****.

Also, you are saying that I may be able to rescue that phone?  As I said at the end of the log, the phone is playing Possum now -- does not show any signs of turning on at all.  However, when I connect USB, Windows is saying that it is seeing an unknown device qhsusb_dload.  It is my own fault, of course -- I tried the "not recommended" flashing method (Fastboot [OMAP])  after the recommended ones did not work.

That's not just "not recommended" it's NOT for the snapdragon phones.  It's for the OMAP phones and using it on a non-OMAP phone can obviously as you know now cause problems.  As for fixing it, I doubt it....but, you can throw a hail mary and try this for fun:

Thank you so much for this guide! My poor Droid Maxx that I bought just last week got stuck in a bootloop after I forgot to un-root before applying a carrier update. You didn't install the support file for your phone.  As I said, you gotta read the instructions for installing fully.  You need to install the xt907 support file.

Just move everything in the directory I outlined up a level so the files are in Directory of C:\Users\Henry\Downloads\HouseOfMoto_1.4\HouseOfMoto\FXZ_xt907

 

Of course, I'd move the HouseOfMoto directory itself to the C:\ drive but it might run from there.
