So im currently using an HD (non-maxx) and I'm thinking of going to the Moto X, dev edition of course, but I'm worried about battery life. I know the x has a smaller battery but they're both rated at 24 hours "mixed usage" any one made this change and know what the real difference is? Thanks.

From what I've heard, the X8 chip technology in the Moto-X is suppose to help out a lot when it comes to battery life and performance.

Just made the same move, better battery, yesterday got 12 hours, pretty heavy use, 4 hours screen & 2+ hours streaming music - much better device, rooted this morning

Never had a razr maxx but hope this helps. I should note I was *trying* to run the battery down to see what it had. Regular usage for me has yielded even better results
