i tried this and another and i was in mtp mode and it will not find my device. all drivers are installed and iam on 404 .... other program didnt find device either so i have no idea my computer must be jacked... this gets so irritating haha

Double check that USB debugging is turned on: Settings -> Developer options

Mine says it loking for device and just sits there forever. I made sure that the debugging mode was on, MTP set and allow mock locations was on... running it on Win 7 64Bit.

Yeah i did all the steps but i tried it another computer and no good... but i got my phone rooted from another link razrguy or something. Can barley understand him.on his video lol but it worked great.

Are you sure you have all device drivers installed? (assuming you're using Windows)

If you are using an XT910 GSM phone, this method won't support you. If you are on an XT912 Verizon CDMA phone try using Matt's Droid Razr utility in the "development" section. Pinned under utility 1.81. Good luck.

Did you extract the files out of the zip?? Sounds like you are just opening the zip. It needs to be extracted to a folder. You can also use Matt's utility if this isn't working. 1.82 is the latest

You will have to use Matt's utility to fastboot back to stock .211 then you can update when/if JB comes our way. Go ahead and root. It's worth it. Plenty of people here to help you return to stock should you want to...

Busybox runs scripts and other things on your phone. Someone else may be able to explain it better. Sorry...

There are a bunch of those Roms on here. Follow the instructions in the original post for the one you want to try. You will need to install Safestrap 2.11. There is a link for that around here too...

i am having no luck with rooting... i came from stock .181 to .211 and every time i go to root... it says device not found... i have changed it to the camera and the mtp thing as well.... any help?

Sounds stupid and it took me two tries. In the end I found out WinRar did not unzip all the files to the correct place. Works great now and fyi... uninstall the drivers and re install if you are having issues.
