Made a nanoid of 2.3 was gonna try Bytes Theme but started messing around instead. I downloads Arrrghhh kernel and cross breeder OC to 1728-192 Lag free deadline. This sucker is faster than hell. Don't know how long it will last for but anyone want to take a roller coaster ride give it a try it smokes.

Without a doubt SS is a virtual machine so its gotta be slower I think. Before we got unlocked the only way a rom ran good was if you put it in stock slot. If your doing that then I don't know.

No, I'm not running it on the stock slot. I'm gonna bite the bullet and go with TWRP. Thanks.

Battery life seems pretty good few days I ran it, but I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus so any battery life is probably better than that. :-)

+1 on this. Was thinking I saw this under one of the known safe strap roms available for this phone but I can't remember either.

Yes u can restore most apps....just don't do data.... I personally prefer fresh installs when moving from ROM to ROM...but update to update I dirty flash....
Hint
Create an update.zip with your core preferred apps...makes switches easier..peace

Care to share your knowledge with a neb on how to do this: "Create an update.zip with your core preferred apps"?

First, what is a "neb"?     :)

If I understand your question and the suggestion:  Do you have Titanium Backup?  If not, you may want to consider it.  I use Tibu to make daily backups automatically of apps and data.  When I flash something else, I just restore the mess after downloading Tibu from the market.

Another way to do this - is to create an update.zip as suggested.  Tibu does this.  You install it, use the filters to pic the apps you want, select the apps AND data, or just the APP.  Hit run, it will create the file.  This file can then be flashed.

Happy to go a bit deeper into the "how" to do this with Tibu if you'd like - Lord knows I've been helped a zillion times.  But, Tibu is pretty easy to figure out.  PM if you'd like some ME time........  ha, just kidding.

There are probably other programs to do this - Tibu is the one I use.

Good luck!

A "neb" is a "Newb" misspelled. But yeah, thanks. That answers my question.

I tried to do a fresh install using TWRP. I accidentally executed "Format Data" instead of wipe data. The install failed. I went back to stock 4.1.2 with Matt's Utility, rooted, unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP 2.5.0. I then went into TWRP and mounted system and followed all the other instructions to a "T". Now i get this error message, "E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/Rage HD v2.3 SS-signed.zip. Error flashing zip '/external_sd/Rage HD v2.3 SS-signed.zip'

Updating partition details..."

Any suggestions?

you need to mount system after wipes, before installing ROM
