Not if you unroot. Everyone says to be bone stock but I've installed OTAs before while having 3rd party apps installed. By the way, I got my mail and thank you!!

That's really weird, you should have the app in the app drawer. Let me take a look at the updater script and see what I can find.

For everyone who is having errors, what system version are you on? I'm on .181 running Eclipse 1.3 over the top.

Eclipse 1.3 .173 rooted ...version 4 no dice no app in drawer

For anyone with issues installing i made a small utility that installs it for you. It requires a rooted phone on any of the ICS Leaks (not gingerbread)

I manually added everything and properly set permissions on the apk. Does the other files need any special permissions? The app runs but does not control the sound at all. Can anyone help please?

I have the app in the drawer and it opens, but no change in sound when it's played with. Using stock Razr Maxx music library. Also, what do we do with the files in the ETC folder? It wasn't clearly labeled.

This mod didn't work correctly for me at first. After following all instructions and rebooting, I did not see the Beats app in the drawer or have that option in settings from within the Music app. I had to remove a current DSPManager apk from my Systems folder and then reboot again. It appears the DSP Manager used by my current ROM was disagreeing with the Beats app. Once I did this and rebooted, I could see the Beats app in the drawer and had the Beats options in the Music app settings. Hope this helps someone.

Note to portscan: ETC refers to an actual folder in the "system" directory, not etcetera. You just need to move all of those files to that folder. Nevermind, I see you answered your own question.


Edit: This mod DOES affect the speaker and headset sound as much as Beats is want to do.

I believe it makes a difference, but I and many others users can't get the settings in beatscontrol to affect the sound.
Try changing the eq to something absurd.. does the sound change?

I'm on the .211 leak/ota now... retried this mod and I still have no effect changing beatscontrol settings... tried with phone speaker, headphones, and my Bluetooth headphones... no change on any of those.... I give up on this

I have the app in the drawer, and the option in the music player, but it makes no difference in the sound. I am running .211.

Sort of related... I have no luck with either beats control or DSP manager 2.0 as far as modifying sound with settings... nuke those and try dsp manager 1.0 and boom the changes make a difference... I still can`t figure out why 1.0 works and the later version and beats control do no...

It's funny you say that because it's also baked into the KOA AOKP and KOA ROM and works flawlessly in both. Thanks for your input though!
