on GB .181 waiting for the OTA update to ICS.

I understand that If I install under GB i will not get the app.

My question is if I install under GB do I have to re-install after the OTA update, to get the app?

Yes. When you install its update it will wipe system files which includes the beats hack. Just reinstall once ics is up and running

I installed and didn't notice any difference through the phone's speaker. But plug in a set of headphones and wow!

I can't wait to play with it on ICS.

Sorry, but isn't this the same as Cyanogenmod's DSP Manager?

And yes, changing settings in the Beats control app does nothing

So i did the steps as stated in OP, but i dont see the icon in my app drawer? Went into system/apps re-installed it, rebooted and still nothing, but can open from system/apps. Is it supposed to be like that?

For anyone with issues installing i made a small utility that installs it for you. It requires a rooted phone on any of the ICS Leaks (not gingerbread)

All thanks goes to spc_hicks09 for creating the beats hack and mattlgroff for creating Droid RAZR Utility 1.6 which is what i used to make this utility

Tried this with rooted .209, didn't work. Should it act like it's rooting phone?

I have confirmed this to work on 209.

Check out the new post i made with my utility

Basically you have to use option 4 first to flash the .85 kernel, then run the mod, then flash back the 209 kernel

i installed this on .79

after rebooting the beat app did not show up in the app drawer or in setting / app's list

i went into /system/app and installed the beat apps (lite press than install) from there. it is now in my app's drawer

Installed fine, but it doesn't do anything? Changing settings doesn't affect the sound, either does changing between BeatsControl and MusicFX in stock sound settings.

I'm on .211 now, but I tried it on .206 and .84 when I was on those. Same thing each time.

I wonder if you are getting the same error as me... if you could go to the stock sound settings (where you select beatscontrol or musicfx) select beatscontrol, click OK... reopen the setting and don't click either one (beatscontrol should still be selected) and just click OK... see if you get a fc from musicfx... if you get that fc, you are experiencing exactly what I am... I just gave up on it...

I forgot, that is one difference: I got that same fc on .84 and .206 but I no longer have musicFX fc on .211.
Doesn't seem to affect anything either way.

I did this on .211 and MusicFX fc. Can't get it to work. Doesn't change the sounds at all.
