so basicly just delete or rename the Dsp and it worked. It only works for me on goggle music sucks but owell i have all my music on there as well.

Idk if you can add a line to delete the Dsp when flashing this? But i assume that it would fix everything?

had it working before the build prop but will add in the added lines
also seems to work with apollo and some of my other music players, it just doesn't enhance streaming I don't think, spotify, pandora etc
otherwise nice work, it ranks up there with dsp manager and poweramp in terms of getting a better sound from the stock (or mod) you are using

oh, and its working on Artic on safestrap over 211

I unpacked all the files by hand...lol
I moved all the files to their proper homes (/app, /bin, /lib, /etc)
Changed permissions for the .apk's to rw-r--r-- (anyone know if you're supposed to change them for every file or just the .apk's)
Entered lines into system/build.prop (save)
Wiped cache/dalvik cache
Rebooted...

1st Reboot takes longer for it to rebuild dalvik and etc...
"Awesome BEATS" shows in App Tray, opens properly, allows me to adjust everything. including equalizer (DSP would FC equalizer)
Audio sounds better overall but can't fully test it as I'm currently at work and did it through earbuds.

Two things I'm trying to figure out:
-If it works with doubleTwist (doubt it because they have their own equalizer you have to purchase)
-If you can listen to a song and change settings at the same time, didn't hear a diff when I tried but again only through earbuds.

Also noted, when I went into the stock My Music; I went to settings, then audio effects, then music effects and it allows you to select either "MusicFX" or "AwesomeBEATS" to be your music effect program of choice. Everything seems to work correctly and doesn't give any errors or issues, overall music sounds better but doesn't seem to change much when I adjust settings (I will play with it more when I can test through the phone speaker)

Thanks SPC_Hicks!!!

Edit: AHHH sorry, didn't realize how long it was until I posted!

When using google music I can definitely hear the difference when I change the settings on the fly for the different effects / eq / etc.
I did not hear a difference using Apollo player however.
I can hear this difference in headphones or speaker itself.
Just my experience -

OK, I'm looking for some help here. I can get it to install if Im in safe mode via safestrap but I dont want to run any ROM's

When I try to flash via recovery I get the following:

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

I shouldnt HAVE to run a ROM am I right?

I've redownloaded the file 4 or 5 times already and the md5 matches every time... help?

I believe you have to run something, meaning you should be able to run stock ICS. I think since the bootloader isnt unlocked can only use safestrap or bootstrap. Safeatrap runs as two operating systems the "safe" one and "unsafe" side (stock/normal side) which we don't want to mess with. At minimum you need to atleast put stock ICS .211

so if I understand correctly I would need to install .211 twice to acomplish this?

basically dual booting?

You don't have to. You can just install it using Bootstrap.

If you are already using Safestrap, then yes. It can only be installed on the "safe" system.

Just make sure you uninstall one before you install the other! Bootstrap + Safestrap trying to run together = brick!

Yes i should have clarified that sorry. Bootstrap you dont need to but safestrap yes and yes its basically dual booting. I would suggest reading up each to figure out which works best for you And def don't install both, as they dont play nicely together
thanks jcamel

I usually run Safestrap to try out ROM's and stuff, but running stock rooted .211 on my nonsafe side. If I want to install something like this that I'll use every day, then I uninstall Safestrap, install Bootstrap, reboot recovery and flash .zip. Then uninstall Bootstrap and reinstall Safestrap if it works.

Np. Just remember to uninstall Safestrap first if you are using it.

Stock 211, installed BootStrap via Matt's utility, flashed zip, under Settings -> Sound -> Music effects changed to AwesomeBEATS, restarted, tested with Google Music... It works! I had to test with earbuds to really hear it working.

OK. I feel like a total d-rear end, but where is the DSP file that conflicts with BEATS Audio (the one that I should rename) and what is its name?? I'm soooo friggin close to having this beast installed and working (I think)!!!

BTW -- great site. Always wondered where all the cool RAZR dev folks were hangin'. :D
