Works on ANY ICS VERSION!!!

Here everyone! I got bored today and made this. It is a flashable zip of a complete and full Beats Audio installation. This zip file contains every single Beats file and is up to date.

It also contains a modified DSP Manager app to work with the Beats files.

Requirements for flashing:

Be on ICS, or Gingerbread but how many of us are still on GB really?

Rooted

Safestrap OR Bootstrap

**DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL THE APP AS A REGULAR APP, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS**

1. Download the zip file and place it on your sdcard.

2. Reboot into recovery

3. Wipe Cache Partition

4. Wipe Dalvik Cache

5. Flash Beats Audio

6. Reboot

After flashing, add the following lines to your build.prop file located in /system

This has not been confirmed to flash with Bootstrap but it should still work.

Confirmed Working on the following ROMs:
Stock 211
KOA ROM
KOA AOKP
Arctic ROM
Black Widow ROM
Eclipse ROM

Thanks for this!! If I already installed the previous beats.zip you posted, will this overwrite it? Or, do I need to uninstall it somehow first?

Awesome, thanks for the prompt response. Liked! ;) Downloading now & will report back. So just wanted to confirm before install: Based on the OP it appears there's no need to mount system this time?

So, I must admit, i can actually tell a difference this time around. I'm still not really seeing the eq adjustments, but i can def tell a audio difference this time! Gold star for Hicks for today for sure!

Feeling like a noob here for asking this but... How do I access the modified DSP manager app? I don't see it in the drawer after installation & reboot. However, the BEATSControl.apk is in /system/app.

Odd, should be in the app drawer, named Beats Control.

Can you check that permissions are rw-r--r-- ?

Permissions are set correctly. I tried clicking on the app to see if it would give me the usual prompt ("This is a system app, do you want to replace it?") but instead, I got a parse error ("There is a problem parsing the package"). This is the same thing that happened when I tried installing the Beat Controls APK manually, prior to you releasing this. Not sure if it matters but I am running Eclipse 1.3 on the .181 base.

That's really weird, you should have the app in the app drawer. Let me take a look at the updater script and see what I can find.

Anyone else having this issue???

Thanks for looking into it! I just re-wiped cache/dalvik & re-flashed. I'll let you know if anything changes. It's rebooting now.

Edit: Same result, still a no-go for me.

Same problem with no beats control app. Permissions are correct, on 181. Says problem parsing when I try to install from root explore.
