Hello my name may be a little slap stick but I love to take complete control of any electronic device. I am new to the android OS's but, i have been creating my own exploits for over 10 years and have been getting my feet wet with these OS's file system layouts

Hey folks,
New to the droid forum, been developing big system software for well over 30 years, started droid devlopment about a year ago but finally finding time to get into it heavy.
The funny thing that drove me to the forum is I went to root and could no longer locate my droid razr maxx 4.2.2 os application developer settings. They were there and then somehow disapeared. I knew usb debugging was on because of notifications when I tether to laptop but still wanted to see the capability.
I finally located in another forum that one now has to go to settings, about phone, and tap build a lovely number of times to become a developer.
These kind of supposed enhancements drive me crazy.
Well anyway I will do my best to not ask questions needlessly; hope to make a couple cool developer friends, and will assist when able.
SK

hello from flint michigan area. i'm not a noob to recoveries, rooting and installing custom roms but after two years with my galaxy nexus....things have changed. i'm here to learn. i'd love to get my hands on a droid maxx developer edition....at least i think that's what i want.
the thing that has me hesitant to get a droid maxx is that i seem to be reading that there isn't much development of custom roms for this device. flashing roms and kernels is addicting...too much so sometimes.
i hate having to worry about battery life and the voice assist seems useful...i guess that's why the maxx is calling me. moto x as well...except most seem to be only 16gb models.
i'm basically stuck with verizon and am in the market for purchasing off contract to keep my unlimited data.

Hi to all from sunny New Mexico. I'm a couple years into my Motorola Droid Bionic and thought it might be a good time to try rooting it and maybe getting a bit more from it. Found this site in my search for instructions and the very best were found here! Look forward to browsing the forums and learning more about my phone and meeting some nice folks.
I've been due for any upgrade for a while from VZW, but hate to lose my unlimited data. So I stick with my Bionic instead of the Bionic Ultra I would like to have! Good day to you all!! Hoping my rooting goes well!!

Hello,
Skid651 here. Glad to be here and hope to learn a little about my new Droid Razr Maxx HD. I thought I was buying the newest version but found out that I am a year behind. I had a Razr before and have had it successfully rooted for the last 2 years and would like to do the same to this Droid.
Thanks

Getting root will depend on the build/system version you got. If you got 9.30.1 or 9.18.94 (which are technically equal) then you will NOT ne able to get root I am afraid.
