I think I have a fix for the twrp backup problem. But I am not on any 4.3 roms nor will I til they improve.
Use twrp manager (batch mode) with this as your recovery:
I up'ed a flash-able one.

Skrill has nightlies, Tim posts updates in his folder on DRDevs, but doesn't always post them in the forums. Somber is running some new builds that are updated regularly. I don't think it's slowed down. However, there is going to be some re-focusing on the X. Matt is developing for the X and wouldn't be suprised to see Hacker and Byte more over to that too.
