Thanks for saving me from my stupidity updating my RAZR M. But there's still no luck unlocking my bootloader. Tried motocalypse after the downgrade and root, no luck. I really need to unlock my bootloader 'cause i've already used to CustomROM on my previous devices. Please someone work on another bootloader exploit :""( (P.S: No, I'm not offending or forcing the devs, just sharing my thoughts. Thanks by the way )

A little heads up.....I did step 5 and updated successfully and when I went to step 6 to restore root I got an error saying i already had it. Im assuming its a because i chose wipe cache instead of the other option. I still have root so I'm going to stick with it
Thanks guys <3 Much love

It's been mentioned in the thread already. If you already have superuser installed you will get an error to that effect when restoring.

Thank you for all the work. Ran procedure twice, first time it would not restore root after update, second time worked great. Is root potected from future updates or should I disable updating?

No promises. But it may be protected.

There will never be another unlock. When we said there was a limited Window of opportunity to unlock your phone, we weren't kidding. It's been looked into. There isn't another way to do it. The hole was closed and that's that. Those who chose to not unlock or those that had to get a replacement phone are now permanently screwed. Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 4 Beta
So... There's no hope then?

If you took the upgrade and were not unlocked, you cannot undo it by downgrading. It is unfortunately unlikely there will ever be another unlock solution for the M. The best hope is that some compassionate dev will do a few custom ROMs based on stock.

You should be able to use any of the ROMs that were designed to be used with SafeStrap. You'll need to install SafeStrap to run a custom ROM.

Thanks so much for this, I've got root access now.
But I ran into a problem at step 4. When I put the device into recovery it didn't give me the option to update to 'blur_version.98.....zip'
I don't know if I missed something, because my recovery menu said 'apply update from external storage,' no mention of 'sdcard.' (and yeah I do have an SD card in the SD slot )

Yeah I've gotten that far... I'm just missing the update I think.
In all honesty do I need to update and restore the root? I'm running safestrap right now, don't seem to be having any hiccups.

the update is purely up to you . The first option must not have worked for you. You can just as easily move the file to your SD card manually.Yeah I've gotten that far... I'm just missing the update I think.
