Your next question is likely to be "where do I get that"...it can be found in my House of Moto support file for this phone.

Nor is there likely to be. I don't believe anyone's working on one.

I am on 98.16.3.xt907. My previous razr m was on 98.30.1, which apparently couldn't be rooted. Do I have hope for this version? I noticed in the OP that if i wasn't on 9.18.78 it would brick. I just came from a Bionic, so I'm still trying to get up to speed with everything in my spare time.
I'm declining the OTA update until I find out if I can root this little guy. Verizon sent this replacement without that latest update, thank goodness.

You should first unlock it if that's the version it's on. Then you no longer have to care about root exploits.

how do i unlock this version? i've googled like crazy and can only find that this version patched the exploit to unlock. i'm trying to find out more but i have no luck, i really want this phone at least rooted though, so would this method work? or is there simpler method for the version i'm on?

You can motochopper for root then motopocalypse for unlock

IF you are on 98.16.3 then you can root and unlock. You update from there and then you cannot.

I didn't know if there was a workaround. Like I said, I'd just be happy rooting it, and wondered if I could use this method to do so. If not, I'm just gonna take the OTA and wait patiently for kit kat.

i am in fact on this version, so the method in the op will work? i just didn't want to jump in since i'm running a different version than stated in the op and turn this into a paperweight.
