Some stock builds will work on SafeStrap for the M, but since the boot loader was unlocked, all development that way had stopped. I believe the Rage rom will work from what I am told. Root has purpose other than rom's , like your greenify, TiBu, etc.

Stock has been fast enough for me so far and battery life, even from just the last day, has been amazing. So I'm happy with just root for now and have greenify get me even better battery life.
Thanks!

Greenify?

Greenify let's you select apps to put into hibernation when you're not actively using them.
Facebook is a good example. If you greenify the facebook app, facebook will not sync or update when you're not using it. It also means though that widgets won't update and you won't receive notifications. It basically stops apps from using data and possibly waking up your phone from deep sleep when you're not using them.
Here's the Play Store Link that could explain it better.

Wow I am so bummed now, not like last night. I've perused this thread and others all over the world and have now decided that I truly hope that the XT907 I have on the way doesn't have this firmware as I am spoiled using Android devices with unlocked bootloaders. At first look before I bought one of these, I saw the bootloader unlock. Now I've done some more reading and found that the expliot was fixed in July. Oh Damn! At the very least I _might_ root it and try some of the old roms. Otherwise I will sell it back on eBay quickly to recoup and quit here.
And for the readers, if you have had the XT907 and have ever unlocked the bootloader, that is one thing that this update cannot fix, your bootloader will (can) stay unlocked, however if you only rooted your device and never unlocked the bootloader, you are f'd. Kind of hard to explain, but there it is there. Furthermore, if you were one of the lucky ones to unlock your bootloader before this update, re-rooting is very similar to a Nexus (or developer) device.
I can only hope and wonder on a very big long shot:
Cellzealot! Is there a way to fix the Qfuze lock with Radiocomm and/or p2kseem or something else???

From what I understand Dan already looked at it and there isn't a way to bypass the trusted zone in the new update. Meaning if you're on this version or higher and didn't unlock previously, you are permanently locked.

And that's what I meant. The 'Qfuze' that Dan talked about in his blog was similar to a life event. Say it like this. You smoked (rooted). Had sex (unlocked bootloader). So if you smoked but never had sex previous to this update, you're screwed and can never have sex. If you smoked and had sex previous to this update, you can always smoke and you are no longer a virgin, and you can even quit smoking.
I'm permantely unlocked <(^……^)>

brian, you continue to taunt me with your unlocked XT907 making me want to hate your face all the more. In fact, we both live in the same state. If my XT907 comes with this update, I will have to stealthily find my way to your house in Kent and steal/switch your phone with mine. Braggart!
