Just a heads up/fyi:

If your Razr M has any conceivable issues that could be covered by your warranty/insurance, there is a possibility that your CLN Replacement might not have the latest update applied. Granted, you're on a refurb, but that aside, you've got an unlockable device where you didn't before.

My personal experience was related to a microphone failure. They overnighted my replacement and lo and behold, there was no 16.3 or 18.78 update pre-installed. I was able to unlock and root and am now happily running Carbon 4.3.

Hope this helps at least a few other people who are looking for a workaround to their locked device woes.

Sent from my XT907 running Carbon 4.3

The computer is not seeing your phone after reboot for some reason. Did the drivers install correctly? Are you using a Motorola cable? Are you plugged in to a USB 2 port? (Not USB 3)

Worked great on my new phone!

Anyone know the best ROM to use with a locked bootloader? Please post a link or just give me name and version if you can.

Thanks to everyone giving us control of our phones back.

Hi all, got a question regarding the script and my current issue. I got a replacement phone saturday due the screen getting broken, any how phone showed up with the most recent OTA already on it. I flashed the wrong xml file to the phone (the full not the modified for root) to gain root. It failed so to attempt to fix the stuck in AP Fastboot screen flashed the current 98.18.78 from SBF droid developers for xt907 then used script to gain root. Some where along the way (suspect after first flash that failed) I lost the 4G data of the radio and have not been able to get it back despite all my efforts. can any one help? Its my daughters phone and cant afford shoving out another 100 bucks cause at this time. I have started a thread under the general questions and help section here under the xt 907 and was directed here for further help.

here is a link to that thread

You could try just flashing the radios with fastboot using the files from the VEZ_XT907_9.8.1Q-78-1_1FF.xml.zip file you downloaded from sbf-developers.

extract the FXZ

Move the NON-HLOS.bin file into the same folder as your fastboot

open command window

change directory to your fastboot directory

type - fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin

          fastboot erase modemst1

          fastboot erase modemst2

          fastboot reboot

or do a complete fxz flash in RSD again.

BTW, did you happen to do a reboot?  I know that sounds silly, but sometimes the simple things get overlooked.

Tried that again wiping data and cache as well. Same result. And yes did a full power off and then reboot as well as forced reboot (power and vol down). Recovery screen still says the phone is rooted "qe 1/1" thought that would change to "qe0/1" after a complete wipe and flash of the whole system.  kinda stumped here its like the phone is write protected from a full flash or something even though I get no errors when flashing.

Post the swdl.txt from your RSD dir.

Flash was successful.  Pull the sim, boot it, shut it off, put the sim back in and see what happens.

OK powered up without sim till it said install sim then option to power off. Powered off inserted sim and rebooted.

..

Clicked on start set up goes to checking for existing contacts 4G lite on and white, then displays "Network unavailable Please contact Verizon customer service support at *611"

Did this same thing on the other M a few weeks ago, at that time we got a new sim and phone never worked right so they covered under warranty (even though I messed it up same way :( ) so doubtful its the sim and besides sim was working when I got the phone on saturday just before I flashed it with the older Software file

Never assume anything.  Might be a trip to VZW I'm afraid.  The FXZ flashed properly so if something were wrong with the phone I'd expect it to fail the flash.

Well the thing is this phone was replaced by asurion at 100 bucks and the the qe still says 1/1 on the recovery screen. On our droid 4 if we flash the phone with a full flash it would change to 0/1 since it was no longer rooted. And it seams to me and could very well be all messed up, that if the same mistake (yes did it twice some of us learn slower then others) that with the 98.18.78 as soon as one trys to flash a full write of 98.15.66 then the current software of 98.18.78 that this happens I would think that is stead of a sim card being wiped out (first phone sim didnt fix it) that it would be anything other then a software issue with the modem. And yet the phone gets a 101db signal from 4G and 98db of 1x.

crap this sucks, what are the odds that there is actual modem damage from 2 versions of software for the same hardware 1 version difference happening to 2 same type of phones with in a month and no one else running into this issue other then me?

Its got to be me with the hair falling out and kids making me age faster lol. And the qe being 1/1? hmmm

Wish I had a better idea as to what is happening in there.

Oh one other thing noticed that the APNs for the 2 Ms we have in the house (other has bootloader unlocked) they are different names thought they would be the same?

will get an update posted later tomorrow when I see our rep we trust at VZW. put the new sim in and it wont register but it does connect to the the 3G network enough to get an IP address. Cant do any searches or get to google, but at least it connects to a network. Think I am gonna hold off on messing with our new phones, wife wants to upgrade to the new maxxs even though no SD card and no car dock available yet (soon we hope)

Thanks

Only other simple thing I can think to try would be to switch the preferred network to global then back to cdma/lte
