Hey guys thanks so much for taking the time to work on this. Just to verify... I was rooted but had a locked bootloader on the previous version and updated to the 9.18.79. Using this method will hopefully root me on 9.18.79?? and also after i am rooted will i be able to use the rsd lite to flash back to any build such as ICSor a earlier JB? sorry if this is a dumb question haha. thanks in advance!

It's not that simple.  On a locked phone, they prevent several partitions from being flashed.  We're not yet sure if this method will fully work on a locked phone or not.  I need someone that has time and a locked phone who knows how to use RSD quite well to test some stuff.

Kaos has the mods to my util for the M.  You'll have to wait for him to post it.  I don't have an M.

It was a combination of effort from many people.  Not just me.  :)  But I'm glad it's working!

This maybe the same question Necron666 asked, but I'm not totally clear.

If you started with a locked bootloader, can the motopocalypse exploit be used at anytime during this process to unlock the bootloader?

Thanks

The script SamuriHL created worked without a hitch.  I would like to thank all the people who made this possible.

I wish I would have unlocked my bootloader prior to the update (man I feel like a tool). Oh well, C'est la vie. I am; however, very grateful to have root back. thanks all

Ok, I've been waiting to see the results of rooting a locked HD after the update. So, before I proceed I'd like to make sure.

If your Maxx HD was not rooted or unlocked before the 9.20.1 update, can it be rooted after the update? I've noticed some saying they got their root "back", but what if the phone was never rooted? What's the official procedure? Link?

Sorry for being redundant, but I don't care to brick the phone.

Thanks.

It does not matter if you previously had root or not.  This method should work for you.
