Yea, ok. I'm out then. Good luck.

Semi-stupid question...sorry if this has been asked and I missed it somehow.
Under Linux, no issue with using dos2unix to remove the ^m that the shell is whining about in the run.sh script, chmod-ing it to be executable, and away I go?
I don't own a Windows box...or a Mac, or I would try on those platforms...
Thanks!

Yes, chmod +x to make it executable.

Awesome, thank you. It looked like the script changed permissions on a lot of things. Having run.sh not be executable to begin with made me question if there was anything else I needed to do but wasn't seeing...I'm much more the "ops" part of devops.
Thanks again!

I don't believe unlocking the gsm option has anything to do with rooting or unlocking the bootloader because I do know that you can call VZW global tech support and they walk you through the quick process. From what I remember, you're entitled to unlocking gsm on one global phone per account, every 6 months.

Actually, I just pulled this off their Global Support page,
:
Can I unlock my Global Ready™ device while traveling overseas to use local service?
Yes, you can unlock your device to use local service. The steps required to unlock your device vary by the type of device you have:
- 4G Global Ready devices - 4G Global Ready devices are unlocked by default. You don't need to do anything to unlock it.
- 3G Global Ready devices - If you have a 3G device, call Customer Service at *611 from your mobile phone or (800) 922-0204. For the unlock request to be processed, you must have an active Verizon Wireless account for at least 60 days in good standing.
I'm going overseas next month and need to find this out myself.

There is no SIM lock on any VZW Motorola LTE device and all will work overseas without any modification with for international use. They are all locked out from use with US GSM carriers like ATT and T-Mo and their affiliates.
This lock is in the radio firmware and is not disabled via an unlock code, but by editing the radio NVM to disable the block on US carriers using serviceware or other NV access tools.
This does NOT require root access and is entirely separate from any bootloader unlocking procedures and can be performed on stock unrooted devices.
It is a single bit edit in the NVM to Item 8322 and I have written a tutorial on XDA for how to perform the edit with RadioComm.
If you intend to use the device only overseas, then none of this is required, only if you want to use it on US GSM carriers.
