This is for XT912(CDMA) only

 

What it does.?

This allows XT912 users to run there phone on GSM networks on Custom Roms (based on AOSP,CM etc)

 

 

Since the ICS update, XT912 is capable of working on both GSM and CDMA network. However the GSM bands for US carriers are protected by a security layer so it doesn't work on US GSM carriers.

 

As long as you run the stock (or stock based) ROM, the GSM works fine. But the Global phone capabilities have not been included in the CM/AOSP/AOKP based ROMs yet.For that you need the GSM fix.

 

How To.?

• Boot into recovery

• Wipe Cache & Dalvik

• Flash the zip

• Wipe Cache/dalvik again

• Reboot

• I've also added many GSM APN's (mostly Indian Carriers) so you don't have to manually add it.

UPDATE:The fix now uses dynamic script and is no longer specific to one Rom. i.e. you can flash it on any ROM you're running and it won't affect your build.prop tweaks and properties.

PS: I searched the forums a lot and whatever I tried gave me some errors like sms issues or signal strength not showing correctly so I decided to make this myself. After a lot of Hit & Trials finally this is the result.

anyways great work sir.. I am from india running aviator cm10.1.2 based ROM..in gsm network..I flashed this zip today everything works fine SMS MMS and data...nice work again

USSD issues are consistent with CM based ROMs. It works a few times and then it doesn't.
I'm looking for it to fix.

You can flash it with either Safestrap or Boot Menu Manager after flashing the ROM.

Ok. I've tested this on AOKP and it worked.

 

1. Copy the Zip to your SDcard
2. Boot into recovey (reboot and select recovey from Safestrap/BMM splash screen)
3. Select Wipe>Cache & Dalvik Cache
4. Return to recovery Menu
5. Select Install>Select the Zip from SDcard. Wait for it to finish.
6. Select Wipe Cache & dalvik.
7. Reboot.

hi I m also from India ..tell me which ROM unusing... did u followed the installation process..?which handset model u using? Inflashed this on cm based roms dont have any problems my data SMS all r working...in reliance cdma and Airtel network... message me any help

Thanks a million. Been searching for hours for a solution.
The patch not only fixed my SMS, it also fixed USSD. Gives my phone better reception also.

Now everything works fine.
