no sir. SafeStrap does it for you. You can use the new SS 3.60 too

What SafeStrap version are you on? It is always a good idea to have stock backed up but not entirely necessary as you shouldn't be flashing on stock side anyway. If you are using 3.11 or 3.60 just create a ROM slot and flash this on it. v3.53 does not work.

Im on 3.60. I wasnt gonna try to flash on stock Im anal about that but I tried to just backup stock slot wouldnt let me. Should I just go to 1 and flash should be good then?

How is battery on this rom I bought a Chinese 4000ma bat and didnt get much better than stock Im thinking its the battery because battery life was about the saame as I remember on stock battery.

This Rom looks awesome...  I need to flash to pageplus on the stock rom before this one will work (I think) but I had two questions... since apex is baked in... can you use circle widget and the stock dock text widget when running apex?  thanks

yes. if you use alot of apps you wont get the running out of memory message.

If it's not already installed, you can download no-frills cpu... a free app...from the playstore. It will allow you to choose from the available governers.

Hotplug is good for battery life on the RAZR so I assume it would be on the Bionic as well. I use either deadline or sio for scheduler but play around and see...I will warn you that hotplugx has some issues with wake up for some people. I go for speed and pegasusq seems to give the best benchmarks most consistently.

Yep me too. It flashed fine in SS3.11 too just because I downgraded for Liquid 2.10 and haven't gone up again yet.
