Paste a screenshot of the MR2 folder.
I could, but I'll list the file names instead because it takes less effort than making a screenshot; this is with hidden/system/OS files visible:
boot.img, cdrom, device_tree.bin, emmc_appsboot.mbn, fsg.mbn, logo.bin, NON-HLOS.bin, recovery.img, rpm.mbn, SamuriHL_Downgrade.xml, sbl1.mbn, sbl2.mbn, sbl3.mbn, system.img

As I said, don't know. Open rsd\sdl.exe, press the ... button, go to the MR2 directory, open the SamuriHL_Downgrade.xml file, and if it gives you an error, I need to see it.

Now, to see if my phone randomly reboots on me. 9.16.6 has been the best build for any phone for me since I've owned an Android smartphone, which is for quite a while. If it doesn't randomly reboot, I'll be sure to let others know my success.
Thanks Samuri for helping me revert to a working build.

Thanks!
Just updated my radios with your utility. I'm still on 9.16.6.XT926. Rooted, unlocked.
Glad I saw your comment about waiting a couple of minutes for them to sync up.
My question:
Did you determine the radios will absolutely revert if I restore a nandroid made on the old ones?
Thanks again!

They do for me. But that's not saying much. LOL You can always use my downgrade script for MR2 and it'll fully downgrade you just in case.

New here... I did not obtain Root before the 9.18.79 xt926 OTA update... will this script obtain Root for me or does it only work if the phone was rooted prior to the update?
Thanks,
Tim

It didn't flash anything. Or even attempt to. So that log is useless.

I've updated the OP with some instructions that may help people who aren't getting step 2 (flashing in RSD) to work properly. If you're having issues, please read the OP fully and try the 2 manual methods of flashing to see if that works.

I tried the manual methods and now I'm stuck in flash mode....got my phone to restart...I think I'll take a break...

Then that means something failed to flash. I'd need to know what it is in order to help.

I've discovered a FAR better way to root these phones. I'm going to write us a new script and upload it shortly.

Motochopper 1.1 posted in the OP. It'll work for the RAZR HD. No more downgrading, protecting, rooting, OTA'ing, restoring. Just use the updated Motochopper with a touch of Samuri magic for good fun and all will be well. DJRBliss is such a freaking genius.

For clarity for us dim-wiited folk...
Motochopper 1.1 will just plain root any firmware version to date?
So I can upgrade to the last OTA, and just run that to get root?
Or if I lose root for whatever reason on any version, I can just re-root with Motochopper 1.1?
Absolutely Cool!
