Okay, so I'm moving to China in about 4 months to start research for my graduate thesis. I've lived there before, and I know a few things about Androiding there ... and need a few more tips from anyone with ideas.

 

First things first:

* I have a rooted Razr Maxx that I reflash to the latest ROMs pretty regularly

* I am going to be operating through a VPN with Market Enabler once I get over there so I can access paid apps and legit websites

 

What I don't know:

* Can my Verizon device run on Chinese carriers or does Big Red lock me out of all foreign carriers as well as domestic ones?

* Does this depend on a ROM or GSM patch?

As long as you are running a stock or stock based ROM, it will run on GSM network without a glitch.
