A file called ss and the sdcard both contain the same stuff. Can I blow one of these away? If so, which one?
I know I'm repeating, but I want to be clear: the "ss" mount is the same as the "sdcard" mount. I use it that way so that the OS can unmount the "sdcard" as needed. Please don't delete the files "safestrap" files in the "sdcard" mount thinking they're different.
That being said are a few directories under the "safestrap" folder that you CAN safely delete if you're sure you are staying on SS3: "backup", "orig" and "safe" were all ONLY used by Safestrap v2. They do contain your v2 backups tho, so you might consider moving them to the external SD just in case you want to go back.

Is there a way to wipe the battery stats, or...have I missed something? If a 'work in progress', that's cool. (Gratuitous accolade follows...) Awesome work, glad you're on 'our' side! Wasn't thrilled with the idea of a new recovery, but glad you used it.

Wiping battery stats is kind of an urban legend that has been perpetuated for quite some time (mainly from other devices). The way the battd binary works is to write out tmp files and make comparisons between the last 2-3. If you see an incorrect battery reading, it will usually sort itself out in a few minutes.

I have read and heard that, one thing that i have notice about SS3.04 is my battery % is always different when I is displayed in SS than then I am booted up. I even ran it dead then recharged it and the same thing no matter if it is a rom running on a slot or my default no safe stock.Wiping battery stats is kind of an urban legend that has been perpetuated for quite some time (mainly from other devices). Any way in the future we will be able to store ROMs on sd-ext? Or is this not possible at all?

Working wonderfully on my RAZR MAXX. Awesome work really appreciate everything you do.

I fear that it would be horridly slow. Or completely dependant on speed of the SD and manufacturer. Which makes for a very random experience... and a full mailbox for me.

Battery % should be decent in Safestrap *after about 3-5 minutes*. The battd processes is starting w/o any existing battery readings and then calculating % from there. So you'll note that it's 99% or something when you first boot up into SS. And then after a minute or 2 it has 2+ readings and will jump to the right % (or close) and then get better from there.
The ROMs have many more readings stored in the /data partition which can cause a bit of inaccuracy when you swap around a lot. It takes a bit for the readings to catch up and correct.
So, I take it back. I could delete the battery readings from the activated ROM when you swap, so that they are started from scratch again.

Once you're in it, select back up, to back up your stock ROM. Think it automatically selects slot 1 for that.Hey guys can some one break down how after you INSTALL this you ENABLE it? DUMB? I KNOW but am striking out here!
Once that's done, select boot menu & then select slot 2. It will format it for you in preparation to flash. Go back to the home screen.
Once there, select install & the file manager will come up so you can select your ROM. It automatically flashes to the slot you just prepared.
Find it, flash it & reboot.
Sorry if this isn't exact, I only used this once, but it went fine & seems more intuitive than cwm. Follow the op exactly though.

I wasn't complaining, just pointing out something that caught my eye. I as you stated it does settle in after a couple of charges.Battery % should be decent in Safestrap *after about 3-5 minutes*. This SS has been fantastic and dedicated dev's you are a godsend.
THANK YOU

5. "ss" is the mount used by Safestrap to run the virtual ROM-slots. It's identical to the "/sdcard" mount. The reason I have a seperate mount for Safestrap is that the OS can unmount the "sdcard" at times for various OS features (UMS, etc) and we really can't do that if you're using files on there.
So is this a duplicate of the /sdcard mount? or is it more of a virtual 'link' - this is the only part that is a little confusing, even with your repetitive post you made above. Otherwise your explanations were exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much for the thorough write up. This ***t is so cool.

The ss battery read out for me is pretty close to accurate. The battery % readout when charging while phone is turned off I'm not so sure. It's reading at 50% when the phone is at 100%. Obviously this is no big deal, just letting you know.

I started clean and there is a safe directory that was recreated by ss3 and has a file in it....data.ext3.tar. Is this a backup that doesn't need to be saved? Just want to be clear before I go deleting anything!
Thanks Hash

Are there any plans for EXT-SD support to make sorta "Slot Roms" available to install there as in the old "Boot Manager" I used on my Droid X? This would allow a great amount of room expansion to add Roms & Data for those with say 32GB+ External cards. Just curious?
