Question regarding extsdcard home options. Using Safestrap and the tricks I learned from the people in the Flick 5.0 rom group, one could make the ROM use the external card for HOME. This is really useful for me as I have an extensive, and rather boring music library that needs lots of space (for my job.. elementary music).

Can Safestrap 3.xx be managed in a way to allow the edited init.mapphone_cdma.rc to point to extsdcard for home? Or does the created img in Safestrap 3 make this a completely different animal?

I have SS3.05 w/2 slots. #1 is Eclipse ics 1.5, slot 2 has Revolution 1.1 on my Razr Maxx.

Whenever I go fm Eclipse to Revolution, 10 of the 17 apps I have in Ext sdcard wind up back in device regular memory & even if I move them back w/TiBu to ext sd, whenever I go back to Revolution fm Eclipse, the same 10 apps wind up in regular memory.

Is there some sort of quirk in the droid API's about the number of apps that can be in ext sd & if you go past that, then the 'extra' apps revert back to regular memory when you switch which rom is active?

I have room for one more slot in terms of internal sd memory, but I've only created 2 slots so far:

Could this be an issue of needing slots to be created before installing any roms on the safe side?

Please help.

Hello hopefully someone here can help... here goes, first I screwed up and forgot to boot back into safe side and bricked my phone, then I Fastbooted back to 211 then root then update to 215 then restored root. I then searched by phone for all the safestrap files and deleted just to make sure, rebooted then installed SS 3.05 this is where the problem starts after installing when I try to boot into recovery it gives me the option I hit the menu button then it just gets stuck at the droid eye....Im not sure what im missing but I would like my phone back...please help

Just a question.... Are you sure you have the proper ss for your phone?.... It appears like you have installed ss for a different phone (i did the same thing once) ....

I think I will finally upgrade, lol. Was just used to 2.11. Anyways, I think I have it right. You MUST boot into the Non-safe side, correct? Then install it after you get rid of the previous version?

prosaschi, be sure to read the OP, & follow instructions there esp about moving stuff to your ext sd card.

Then enjoy all the new features, like charging while in recovery, & multiple slots…

in whichever apps you can, have them store their data on sdcard-ext -

I did that w/Titanium Backup's backup storage location & limited the # of maximum backups

then put what apps you can on sdcard-ext & check out this thread & search on internal storage.

good luck

You mean you can change the location of where the TB backup/restore files are at? I purchased the PRO version of it if that helps, that would save me almost 2 Gigs.

prosaschi,

you're doin' enuf on your own, check out the Preferences section in TiBu & youl'll crank it up a notch in terms f your Droid knowledge-
if you got fm SS2 to SS3 you have taken the 1st steps to achieve the next level.

Welcome to the droid hacking club, it's fun & w/SS3, you can always get back to where you were, just familiarize yourself w/SS3's screens & have a blast!
