Actually I think a better fix for the /sdcard to /sdcard-ext swap for the stock roms would be changing the mounts in vold.fstab. I believe the init.rc files are overwritten each time you boot... isn't that right? Check this post out:
I think this one fixed the problem. Thanks!

I did not install my apps in the second one and hadn't installed anything in the 3rd slot. Just thought I would say something.

i read were he commented on why no roms on the sd ext cause of speed. Boot manager on my x runs roms from the sd card and they run fine. But what i plan on doing is eliminating my base save side rom with a custom rom instead of stock rooted. That way i will be fine. I will never use the stock rooted ever again anyways.Best I can figure, is that Hash pretty much worked out that there would be a definite slow speed factor involved. I've tons of room on my SD- EXT, but will have to live with things as they are, which ain't exactly all that bad with a very flash friendly recovery!

titanium backup works fine. Move your titanium backup folder to your external SD card.Hey anyone else have problems with downloading apps that require sd card? I tried downloading Glow Hockey 2 from the app store and it said it can't save to USB storage our sd. Also Titanium Backup Didn't work when trying to restore it. I'm on flick 1.8 BTW

Is this a permanent mod or will it be shot after a fresh install

No it's not permanent It'll have to be modded unless it's included in the ROM. I just did it to accommodate the swap in stock. I suppose it could be included in an init.d script... maybe using sed..

Check a few pages back....Hash already addressed the battery issues....basically you need to let the ROM settle for a lil bit before you get accurate % readings

After I switch from Safe to non-safe and try to reboot....I get stuck on boot logo.
I think I know where I went wrong
IF COMING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION OF SAFESTRAP (v2.x):
- You will want to move the entire “/sdcard/safestrap” directory to the external SD card (/sdcard-ext). These are your backups and in a catastrophic situation you could revert to Safestrap v2 and use them.
- Go into the existing version of Safestrap and use the “Remove Recovery” button to remove the Safestrap files from the stock /system.
- And lastly, remove the APK from the device as you would any other app.
After I did step 1.....I went ahead and accidentally deleted 'sd card/safestrap' directory from my internal memory. (this was while I was on safemode). Then I swapped back to non-safe and tried to boot up in stock and now im stuck on boot logo. I can do a reset, enter back into SS menu and swap back to safe and boot back up ROM. Just cant boot stock system.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Just went back to my ROM and checked internal storage and the '/sd card/safestrap' folder is back. It appears to be the same exact one.....but still having same issue
