Data should be solid.. You installed on safestrap ics v2... wiping data, cache, dalvik and format system? and gave the ROM a second or two to let data connect before beginning Device Setup? also, on boot its a script that toggles through the network mode, which will/should give Data on boot.. might take a second or 2 but it Should<<< connect. and if it keeps changing, did you try rebooting the device and see if it worked? and if it didnt, did you ever reboot into recovery and just wipe cache and dalvik, then reboot to see? there can be a few factors after flashing that could give a problem or two, but it should stabilize it self out. sorry your experience wasn't satisfying. ..

I did re-boot multiple times after letting it settle in for a couple of hours. After that didn't solve it, I went in and cleared the cache and dalvik hoping that would work. I let it settle overnight, and when I woke up all data was greyed out again and the only fix was a reboot. I installed on SS ICS V2, wiped everything and formatted just like you instructed in the OP. I am wondering if the script just never stopped running in the background, as the network mode kept changing itself?? Anyways, I went back to stock .211 and am giving Arctic a shot. So far no data issues.

You have no reason to apologize, as not every ROM will agree with every device. That is something I learned when trying to run MTP based roms on mine and my wife's Fascinates. They each reacted differently. It is a real solid ROM, I just hope with the OTA that my little glitch may clear up!

It should.. i know you cant really tell much of a difference unless you have a nice headset on, i know i could tell the difference, and even between changing the options of slight, moderate, and extreme.

Simply open Phone Info (found in app drawer), select phone information, then Set preferred network type: to GSM only, Wait for the screen to flicker and then wait about 3 to 5 seconds, then toggle it to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). You should only have to do this after booting, as data is pretty damn solid now on the new kernel. ..

These were the most helpful instructions I found even though my EXACT settings differ slightly. You saved me a wipe/reflash! Thanks!

On ICS builds Beats Sounds or even DSP Manager has no affect when using Pandora I can tell you that for certain. I stream Pandora daily in the car and to get better sounds output i've had to use Volume+ to get thigns to sound right when using Pandora and having it hooked to the headphone jack. Fro any of there music app I've tried Beats seems to work just fine tho. Pandora has to have ther app coded in some F'd up manner where things like DSP Manager, Beats...etc have no affect.

Thanks buddy, changed it up a lil to kinda match the new design of the calculator and $!#7... pretty near complete theme wise, now its down to updating specifically for the .211 kernel, integrate in Webtop, and a few more random things to do and this bad boy should be nearing its final stages Very soon!!

yeah the way i look at it is.. is the .211 leak is the OTA, and already being on a leak, can just sideload right to it pretty easily. And making the upgrade to ICS, comes the bootloader, so reguardless if we accept the true OTA or install the ota file ourselves, we wont be able to go back to GB, so might as well skip the week or 2 wait and get it now. just my 2 centz

Point well taken. I have zero issues on .79 my thinking is dig out the old notes and make a flash file for .79 to give me .211 radios and still be able to move forwards and go back if need be

yeah same here! that is a good idea.. im just doing it to get the $!#7 out the way so i can get things moving along development wise for BW.

Thanks. When on dx we took the bp.img and the rdl.bin from update and made a zip that you flash in recovery. Here is the problem, on DX it only work if fast booted to froyo kernels. So will it work on .181 or 173 or .748 kernel I can't promise it will work. And I have know idea what would happen if it falled. My guess is your safeside will be worthless until you uninstall safestrap and start all over from stock rooted .181 which is not that bad.

Is Flash supposed to work in any browser? Tried deleting flash and reinstalling but no dice. Said it was still installed though I had already deleted it. Couldn't reinstall from Play so had to download the .apk and try, though it still doesn't register in Chrome, Dolphin or the native browser...

it should be working. go in your system/app and delete the flash apk, reboot. then open play and download flash and try. you have to reboot after deleting the apk though for the full effects to take place.

You will need the GSM patch for any of the cdma roms to work. I'm nor sure if you need to flash patch prior to first boot or not

if your GSM you would then need to flash the gsm-patch after flashing the rom, before rebooting the device.

also, thought i would share.. I made the leap over to the OTA 6.16.211 and after installing ics safestrap v2 and flashing BW B39 ICS-LEAK..... Things have been very stable. I will note however, after completing device setup, data dropped, i made a toggle through system settings, clicked on More.., then mobile networks, and set network type to CDMA/LTE. went back to homescreen, opened app drawer and opened Phone info. then set the preferred network type to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). after that data connected to 4G, i then rebooted into recovery and wiped cache and dalvik, flashed DarkGapps and rebooted. After booting, 4G data connected.... since then i have made random reboots here and there and everytime 4G has reconnected on start (awesome!!) and from 8:30pm -10gmt, now 10:56am -10gmt... i have not had a data drop yet.. and if it did while i was sleeping it reconnected so i never knew................. anyways, just thought i would share that this build is working beautifully on the .211 system.
