I got my email :) I'm just hoping I can still do it despite running ICS with the 211 build already :|

Nope. Stock 181 only

I got this text this morningIt came from. 6250 (who ever that is) VZWPIN:944285/20120620235345
Does anyone know what that is? I did fill out the
survey to participate in the soak test.

Nubai1, that is a warning msg that you get when your device doesn't have the BackupAsst files, …have you been rooting youre phone, running custom roms, or freezing BA ? ;-) LOL

You login to VZW My Account & under the pic of your phone look to disable the BA stuff, don't have it in front of me; but you just dig a bit into Services options & disable BA & you should get no more 6250 txts fm vzw.

There may be a thread here somewhere on getting rid of the 6250 msg …

If I am stock 181, but rooted and SafeStrap installed, will I still get the OTA?

SafeStrap will prevent you from installing the OTA.
Rooted may not and probably won't.

Part of the survey specifically states that you *WILL* revert back to stock.
You will not get any support on the forum if you have not gone back to stock.
You need to do it before the soak goes live because if you reset after the soak starts, a factory reset will bump you from the soak.

Now when you say OTA, do you mean just the soak or the actual, to-the-masses OTA?

The same thing can be said for those of us who Bootstrap?

If you modify the boot partition and or don't boot into the factory recovery, the answer is you will not be able to take *ANY* OTA update, soak or otherwise.
The factory bootstrap must be in place to take an OTA update. Soaks are OTA updates that become a release OTA if they don't have show stopper bugs for the soak group.

The only way to take an OTA is if you are stock. If you have a custom ROM, removed bloatware that only root can remove, etc.......; you need to get back to stock to take an OTA update.

you should be able to fastboot Matt's droid util 1.6 final version, but check to see if razr bootstrap app is still there.

If so delete it, & use Root Explorer (or similar app) & turn on R/W & check in /System/Bin for a file named hijack, delete that, & then look for 2 files named logwrapper & logwrapper.bin & delete the logwrapper file that doesn't have the
.bin extension & rename logwrapper.bin to just just plain logwrapper w/no filename extension & reboot.

Got this on xda-developers.com & -actually had it written out on a paper on my desk…

Good luck, SpyderMan

How much would it piss you off if motor pushed 4.0.3 for the soak?

Gotta get rid of Bootstrap... Someone posted instructions in another thread but I can't remember where. Sorry. Look at the topics updated in the last few hours. It was only a bit ago.

What about SafeStrap? How do I get rid of that? Can I wait until the OTA drops, then get rid of it? Will I still be able to get the update? Not the soak, but the actual update...
