Doesn't that use an exorbant amount of battery life up? and also, what do you mean by max of 625? Is that all your clocking it to with smartassv2 with screen on? I'm up for experimenting ;) Imagine I could do the same with SetCPU or should I be using NoFrills?

When the screen is off the max frequency the CPU can use 625. When screen is off I use hotplug to shut down a core when not needed, and when screen is on I use smartassv2. In regards to battery life, it does not seem to bad.

On a sidenote, does anyone use a 3rd party lockscreen like Active Lockscreen? Noticed that when this is enabled, the volume rocker mod no longer works.

As a matter of fact, I just ditched widget locker due to lag and went with Active Lockscreen just today and am still testing to see if I like it. :) Thanks for the suggestions. I think I will set a screen off profile as you have - haven't tried that yet. But, I will stick with Pegasusq / sio for now as my main Screen on mix and take one step at a time so I can guage the difference better. Good talk!

I use "Android Assistant" & the one in "Floating Touch". Seems to be a good combo to free up RAM quickly.

Have you tried No-Frills CPU? That seems to have fixed freezing/lag for me.

Yes, I used No-Frills to set my Governor. I've tried SmartAssV2 and HotPlugX. Both have led to the dead screen.

Maybe something other than govenors/lag issues. Have you tried fixing permissions in SS?

Yup. Tried that. Not sure, going to keep playing and see if I can work the kinks out. Otherwise there is some sort of wake bug with a setting.

My only dream for this ROM is for a way to change the text messenging on the lock screen to point to my current "Handcent" texting app. I've tried various lockscreen replacements and half of them cause lag and the other half don't work at all.

I use chompSMS and after a couple reboots my lockscreen messaging shortcut changed to chomp. Not sure why though, I froze the stock messaging app upon installing chomp, rebooted, and un-froze the stock messaging app, and on the next reboot chomp showed in the lockscreen.

Hrmmm, interesting. I'm going to try that with Handcent. Only thing I can remember about freezing stock messenging per another ROM is that I lost MMS functionality.

I only froze it temporarily. Installed chomp, froze stock messaging, rebooted and wiped cache/dalvik(probably not needed), unfroze stock messaging and rebooted again. Who knows, could have been a fluke.

Wow, It's working without any reboots or anything. Handcent Icon and app re-direct is now on lockscreen in place of stock messenging but I'm worried I might have broken MMS capabilities so will have to test and if so, follow your procedure.

Not to derail this thread but what do you like about Chomp and have you used Handcent - for comparisons? Does Chomp allow for individual notification tones per contact?

Thanks!

GO SMS allows for individual ringtones. I also like the way it handles group sms. Lots of additional options (block certain senders, pop-up notifications, etc).

Thanks, Yea I've used Go SMS in the past but can't recall what switched me to Handcent. Something about Go SMS I think messed up with me or my setup.

Edit: Btw, I haven't rebooted or unfroze stock messenging yet and probably won't have to as I've just succesfully tested MMS and sent and received a picture! YAY :)

Only reason I went with chomp was because my wife used to use Handcent but kept having problems with it. Glad you got thanks working! When I left my stock messaging app frozen I could not send/receive anything...

Well, as much as I love this ROM, I had to switch today. The lag just keeps getting worse, day by day.  Had to do the "battery pull" 4 times yesterday, because it was froze.  I tried multiple governors. Changing governors seemed to smooth things up for a bit, but shortly it was right back to lagging.  Seriously hope someone finds a cure for this, as I really do love the ROM.

Bummer man. Not sure where all that lag is coming from. I never saw anything like that.
