Its all good now ZKK. I mustve flashed the earlier release. Also, another interesting sidenote.....now my messaging app is called "MMS Push" instead of "Messaging". Sort of odd, but no biggie.

Yeah, that's a CM change. I'm not sure what's going on there, but I'll probably change it on the next nightly. Thanks for confirming that, I'll put the link back up :)

I just looked and the messaging app label is pulled from a .xml. It looks like CM decided to rename the app from here, but it's a quick edit to rename it. I'll be changing it to messaging in my future builds :)

I'm on 7/9 nightly finally lol. Wiped cache/dalvik ( habit even though script does that) flashed, fixed permissions. My mms wasn't working... Tried apn backup & restore app on stock side, making it a system app, then backup apn, then do the same on cm side but no luck so tried the other trick I saw on cm posts... made a new apn named verizon and Viola :)

It may not last a reboot. My wife has cm on her phone and that process for mms doesn't last after rebooting. The apn one does but you must make apn backup and restore a system app on the cm side also and make sure to check ics disable, which I'm sure you did. She had trouble with 7/9 so I downgraded her phone to 7/8  shich definetly works better.

Exactly what I did with apn backup & restore. That's weird mine did survive after rebooting. Only issue I've had is my wifi quit working. It'd say connected But no signal. Reboot fixed that. I noticed modules r in the coding too but don't actually load. I'm sure that's still a cm issue though.

I have been doing dirty flashes with no problems so far.

But when you say you are on 3.0.3 that means your using Aviator Blur not this Aviator.

Oh yes I know. But was going to switch. Is it stable enough as a daily? I need wifi to work well, and bluetooth as well. Camera? Any MAJOR things not available yet?

Blur is over here:

This is CM10.1 JB 4.2.2 which can only be installed in slot 1. As for full wipes, I always recommend it since it gives you the cleanest slate you can get, which should mitigate any issues. However, the installation scripts will wipe cache, dalvik cache, and system, so you could do dirty flashes and be just fine. But if you do have issues, then try a clean install with full wipes. In essence "No Wipe, No Gripes" :p

Stable for me, and everything seems to be working fine. If you dont want the Nightlies then just stick with the Stable release,, but so far the nightlies have been bug free for me.

Thanx guys....

ZK are the stat battery files in same place so I can replace them manually with the larger DIGITAL ones from your BLUR scripts?

Also, what are the benefits over BLUR? Battery life? Anything?

No, don't use the Blur utility on this. But, there are a few different battery icons to choose from, Go to Settings>System>Status Bar>Battery status style and see if there is anything you like in there. :)

No I meant are they in the same places on the UI, I normally do them manually myself without the utility

Yes, the icons are in SystemUI.apk>res>drawable-hdpi and the coding which pulls the icons is in SystemUI.apk>res/drawable/stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml.

sir when u r going to make a stable versions..:m waiting...

I build these straight from CM source. Do you know how CM is organized in order to get a stable release? Basically builds will go through these steps:

  • Nightly: Usually generated every 24hrs, experimental, and may have new features. Unstable (but in our case it is pretty stable)
  • Milestone: More stable than nightly, but there could still be issues.
  • Release Candidate: Last build before stable release. Few minor issues, but mostly stable.
  • Stable: All, or almost all issues are fixed.

CM released a stable version and that is what my stable build is built from. Since then, CM have been putting out nightly builds to add/experiment new things. I am taking those nightly builds and adding in the Aviator personality. Hopefully you now understand why I'm only adding nightly build at this stage. You can follow the CM builds here:
