Decided to live dangerously so just dirty flashed the the nightly over the original. Booted and running fine. No problems yet. Will ruin for 24 hrs and let you know of any problems.

Yep, that's usually how most update their CM installs. Some also wipe caches before rebooting. Not 100% safe, but quite low on risk.

You don't even need to wipe caches, the install script does it for you.Yep, that's usually how most update their CM installs. Some also wipe caches before rebooting. Not 100% safe, but quite low on risk.

This isn't an official update. This is a "nightly" which means there is potential that it can be unstable.
I personally would follow the installation instructions in the OP. Some people have flashed straight over top of the ROM, but that can be risky if some important files have been removed from the build since flashing overtop will not remove them. I will put a link to the CM change log later today so you can see exactly what is different.
You do not have to flash this though. It isn't an official update yet. But you can flash if you want.

Just in case anyone wants to review to latest CM10.1 Spyder change log:
Since there was a lot of changes made with the 20130704 build, I will begin to make Aviator CM10.1 based on that nightly and hopefully get that out to you guys sometime today

I don't think I've heard that one before, but can you check that the image is the correct size (540x960) and that the permissions are correct.

Just a quick note for anyone looking to try 20130704 nightly, I've noticed that I have to reboot after installing apps or else the app will force close. WiFi also has trouble reconnecting once entering the WiFi area. I normally have to reboot to get it to connect.
