You sure post 856 will help with the small lettering and such? Lol and also what is Android media process? It seems like that's the culprit behind my battery draining so fast. Sent from my XT912 using Tapatalk 2

modifying the LCD density to 240 will bring the lettering & icons back to stock size.

Android Media Process is what searches for your pictures, music, videos.

You may have a corrupt file which is hanging up the process and also keeping your Media DBs from updating which is why you can't see any pictures or music in your apps.

Do you know for a fix for it? I also can't edit the LCD.

i've read that you will need to find & delete the corrupt file.

I haven't had this problem myself so i'm not sure the best way to do this.

Open ES File explorer.
Press menu, and make sure root is "On".
Click on the word "Root".
Click on "Mount RW"
Ensure all boxes are RW.
Navigate to /system and open build.prop.
Press menu, and select edit.
Search for the line as written in post 2.
Change the value to 240.
Press menu and save.
Reboot.

Are you sure it's 240? It just seems rather large... Can I change it to like 210 without messing it up?

I'll try 210, 240 just seems like the icons are big. I also think I fixed the media process. They're doubles in the SD card folders and you need to delete those doubles. Like GO SMS or download/Download. I'm not 100% but I think it did trick.

So since A LOT of people have been having the issue with the ES File Explorer not running with root permissions and all, go download "Root Browser" from the Play Store. It's a file manger but its built specifically for rooted phones. All you gotta do is go modify the build.prop to whatever u want and once you hit save it'll ask for root permissions. Its the best file manger I've used and super easy. So if you don't want all the fuss with ES, go get Root Browser:D

This may have been covered somewhere else, but just in case, I'll state what I've experienced and discovered as far as problems with this ROM. Otherwise, this is a great ROM!

  1. Screen locks in a dimmed state and phone is unresponsive. While in a call, the call does not drop, but muting and other functions are not available.
    • Turning off the screen lock seems to be a work around for this for now. Not a great workaround for those of us that need to lock our phones, but at least the phone stays responsive.
  2. Wireless connection drops and won't reconnect by turning wifi off and back on. Seems to happen when I'm connected to wifi, leave the area to where it reverts to 4G, and then return to the wifi zone. The connection gets stuck at assigning IP.
    • I used to reboot the phone to get wifi to reconnect, but discovered that turning on Airplane mode and then turning it off, works 9 out of 10 times.
  3. Can't move any apps to the SD card.
    • I haven't really found or seen that anyone has a fix or a work around for this yet.
  4. When using the default screen size, the dock at the bottom has 6 areas for apps (or groups of apps), but will only remember 5 between reboots. The three areas to the left of the Apps Menu button are maintained between reboots, but on the right side, to the far right, that area is empty after a reboot.

Hope this helps someone.

NOTE: I forgot to mention that I haven't tried today's build, so these might be fixed. Downloading now.

I think the icons look big with GEL. Better with other launchers like Nova

Going to be flashing the KitKat verson of this ROM tonight.  I can't believe I've been using the same ROM for 8 months now, it's time for a change and this looks like a good place to start.

Dude your Battery Life Sucks to be Honest ;) but that said, if your Happy with the Set up with your Phone...Many Widgets, All the Apps you Love to Keep Who cares about your Battery Life...
Wall chargers & Car Adapters are my Life using my phone they way it should be...Most people that post 20+ hours or Days of Service is putting on a Bench and using very little...Its like watching Paint Dry...No Sheet... Now Really, who are they kidding with miss Noma for usage

Serious note,
I'm a heavy user (10-12 hours (Tops) * (Hard Usage) with Lots of Widgets going...to mention a few...Next Launcher, SMS, Swiftkey, 3 Emails Choices, Calendar, Weather, CPU, Juice Defender Ultimate...Not counting System Apps as well...I'll stop there...

Oh!!!
Cache Cleaner NG will help with Lags and Performance in addition to Busy Box Lining up the Ducts in the UI System keeping the Wind in the Sail for Ocean Vista Cruises

Now,
Lets talk about Juice Defender...Wasn't an Advocate for this App but, I'll get an Extra 2 hours Battery Life with this App...Believe it or Not

Music & Pictures should be in one of your Explorers...Search and Find...Their there... B)

I downloaded busybox, but I don't understand the app. What does it do?

Busybox isn't really an app that you use.  It's needed by certain apps for those certain apps to function correctly.   Titanium backup is one that comes to mind (although I think it comes with it's own verion of busybox).  Anyway, it's a container (so to speak) of many Unix utilities.  Apps that require one or more of them will use them.  The app you download from the playstore should really be called Busybox updater (IMHO).  Some apps require a certain version of Busybox.  You can use the updater to install whatever version of Busybox you want or need. That's about all it's really good for for the average user.  That's enough though. You can get the right version when an app says it needs a certain version.  This probably doesn't make a lot of sense but it's kind of hard to explain.  Best I can do.  Maybe a dev can step in and answer better.  :)

Ok, ZKK.. I have been absent due to jail and traveling issues. I'll be back up testing sometime in the future.. Or when someone wants to donate $55 to the "Get-Arik-Service" Fund.. Lol.. CM11 1/18 build should fix all WiFi AP problems without flashing the "fix".. And 3G on PagePlus is still pretty unstable.. Can't change network types without the "Unknown Service" error in the phone tools menu..

Also...

If your MAC address is missing... Look into nvs_map.bin fix.. Only problem with that is you may have a duplicated MAC address..
