Sorry for having to post again -- I switched to the stock ROM and re-synced my verizon backup. Went back to KitKat, and was able to login to Verizon "Cloud", which is now syncing my info onto KitKat. Thanks john, I'll also backup to google!

Ok , reason why I asked I'm on cm11, but gel does not work on my device, launcher wise, home screen, etc. I have not rom'd zk's yet as I'm waiting to do it tomorrow when I have time. So it seems like people with nexus are getting gel working, people without, are having issues.

Well, downloaded Cviator KitKat CM11

Deleted old CM on Slot 1 in Safestrap

The did advanced wipe and took care of the 4 wipes.

Rebooted.

Loaded Rom, and install fails. 

Did above 3x and 3 failures.

Any ideas?

Want does it say when it fails? Also, I don't think it will make a difference, but after wiping the ROM slot you don't need to reboot. Once the slot if clean you can go straight to the install portion.

You're on Safestrap 3.65 right?

What version of safestrap and what build number are you using? The file is good, but the file isn't compatible with the version of safestrap that you are using. If you have safestrap 3.63 or 3.65 then you should be ok to flash the 20131221 build.

I am not using the Ss versions u mentioned.  I am using SS 3.53

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

There is an error executing updater binary in zip.   Yuck!  Ihave no idea of what to do.  I have flashed CM10 roms on this device many times. Moved file from ext sd to internal sd and still having issue.

You need to upgrade to safestrap 3.65.

 

1. Download the new apk:

   Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

2. Boot into stock and open the safestrap app.
3. Click "Uninstall recovery".
4. Use a file explorer to delete the safestrap folder on your internal SD card. Move any back ups! This will delete any backups and ROM slots.
5. uninstall the safestrap app like a normal app. Settings>apps>safestrap>uninstall.
6. Install the new safetrap app.
7. Open the new safestrap app.
8. Click "Install recovery".
9. Reboot into safestrap.
10. Create a NEW ROM slot. Any old ROM slots will give you errors.
11. Flash the ROM and follow the instructions

Thanks!  I did upgrade Safestrap, followed your instructions above and in OP.

I can boot into stock with no problem.  However, after installing Rom and flashing gapps, the phone does not boot into Aviator.

I have let it sit for quite a while, but it just wont boot into new ROm.  Again, any suggestions are very appreciated.

In the meantime, I will delete Slot 1 again, and I assume KK can now be installed on slot 2, correct?

Also, phone will not start unless using 3 finger salute to get back to SS to allow stock or Tom reboot.

CM 11 can post into any slot you wish... Create a New Slot than flash

All installations have failed with new rom and older rom as u suggested.  It seems that the MD5 file cant be found.,a nd the zip signature can't be verified.

I have tested another rom and it installed without any issues.

Perhaps u can help?

As I said in the other thread, there is no md5 file, so that's normal. Turn off signature verification in SS options to correct the other error and the Rom will flash correctly.

This ROM is working great for me. Thanks for the advice on peeve us posts. I have a quick question about using Google search with this ROM. The ROM's launcher allows for the use of "ok google" voice search activation all the time. If I use another launcher like apex, it doesn't seem that I can do that. Is it possible only with the launcher loaded with the ROM or can it work with other launchers too?

That feature is part of the Google Experience Launcher (GEL). I don't know of another launcher that will have that feature yet.
