No, you go to "More" >"Mobile Broadcasts" and then uncheck all of the boxes.  It is all of the Amber alerts and such that you uncheck.  I'm not sure how or why it works. I just read it in a thread on XDA Forums and figured it was worth a try.  So far it seems to be working, don't ask me why or how though?  Maybe you know more about why this would work?

I'm sorry, it is actually called "Cell Broadcasts", not "Mobile Broadcasts", that explains some of the confusion.

For this fix, is it "More">Mobile Networks" and then uncheck the boxes?

Sorry, It is "More" > "Cell Broadcasts", Not "Mobile Broadcasts" like I said earlier.

Well, I've been on the 1126 build today, and I think I still prefer the 1122 better.  I have been having issues with wifi not continuing to download updates and such after the screen turns off.  The screen tearing is gone, but it seems slightly slower.  Also, it is a little more buggy when going from and app back to the homescreen.  Also, it cut out service again at lunch.  I'm not sure if it is that the "fix" isn't working period, or if it is just on this build.  I'm switching back to the 1122 build to try to verify these issues.  I guess this is to be expected with early nightly builds.

Well, I guess it was too good to be true. I spoke to soon. Two days without signal drop, now it dropped twice in one day. Sorry, but the fix doesn't work. Is there any way to make this 4.4 ROM have a signal like your 3.0.9 ROM? It is the smoothest one, just needs to work with 3g.

Will smart actions work on this? Doesn't seem available from play store

Use Tasker if you can. It's a far superior app :)

ZK. Do you think fixing the APNs like this may fix the 3g issue?

ddmclw, you can try my suggestion. I have a Verizon CDMA XT912 and have not had any trouble with MMS. I think I also have a stronger connection due to my modification. Basically, I have merged the stock APN's with that from CM11. It's hard to be absolutely certain that this is working as I think it is since the APN settings are locked out, but when I use this merged APN file on other ROM's, it always grabs my merged APN which is basically the APN settings as they were provided by Verizon so it should be the best settings.

First, boot into your stock ROM and see what APN you are connecting to. In particular, pay attention to the mcc and mnc. If your phone is like mine, the mcc is 311 and the mnc is 480. If your APN is different from mine, you'll have to manually merge your Stock APN's with the ones from CM11. However, if your APN is the same as mine, you can just grab my merged file.

Assuming your APN was the same as mine, you can follow these instructions to get the new APN's on your phone and working.
Grab my merged file: apns-conf.xml
Replace the APN file in CM11. It's located at: \system\etc\apns-conf.xml
Edit the build.prop file: \system\build.prop
Replace ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=310004 with ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=311480

You should now be able to dirty flash your modified ROM and reflash gapps, do the cache and davlik cache wipes, and hopefully your phone will reboot being able to send and receive MMS

Great suggestion. I'm in Canada at the moment so I'm out of cell phone range (I don't want the roaming fees :p) but this sounds like a good idea. Let me know how you guys get on.

This sounds good, but when I check my phone right now running the latest Nightly Aviator, I already have 311 and 480 in my config's....when in Developer Options/Launch Tools/configurations

In my build prop it still says 310004 though.

Also what do you mean "grab" your merged file. How would we do that?

Can we clarify where you check your APN's in a ROM?

Do we have to modify both the xml file you mentioned AND the build prop?

I also get a wallpaper cropper error and FC when trying to switch wallpaper to a gallery picture.

ZK, did you see this?

Also, is there an option to alter the 90/180/270 rotations? I hate when my phone rotates upside down!

Turn off auto rotation.

Yeah, I did, but I can't seem to replicate the wallpaper FC.

Yea but then I get NO rotation.

In the pure CM there was an option to pick between 90/180/270 on rotation.

So, did you replace the XML, change buildprop and reboot?

Or did you dirty flash on top of it after as he alludes to in last line

Video calls using Google Hangouts crashes every time for me, both on 11-22 and 11-26 build. Anyone else experiencing this?

I tried to replace the XML file, but could not on the PC or the phone. I was able to change the build.prop. Not sure what to do to change the APN file to try this fix.
