Enable "Widget Pages". Then exit and turn your screen off so it locks. When you turn on the phone and see the lock screen, scroll to the left and you will see a + symbol. It will then pop up your list of widgets to choose from. You can select and hold the page to drag it to the right to be your main lockscreen. You can, on some ROMs, delete the original page that is now to the left. Also note, that the page to the right is the camera shortcut. "Maximize Widgets" will basically open the widgets automatically, then you have to hit the lock button to get the slider to unlock the phone.

I appreciate the rapid response. I actually already figured out the lockscreen widgets, but I appreciate the info about what "Maximize Widgets" does. What I was actually referring to in my original question is the lockscreen shortcuts that come from your slider, as shown in the below screenshot (see far right image):
Do you have any idea how to make that work? Right now all I can do is swipe right to unlock.
