I'm just going to wait for a deodexed fixed build.. Hopefully of 4.3..this GED is smooth but it does have a few bugs. In a lot of ways it is what I have been wanting since my bionic! 4 way power and 1% battery would be the only additions I would want! I'm not hard to please!

BDH...just to let you know...it's not an eri.xml fix. The basic TW eri is borked as well...something else is reporting the carrier. I looked at the build prop from the deodexed version I am running and the ROM creator/porter/rebuilder..whatever you wanna call him added Verizon to the carrier info already. Now...here is a weird thing to share..and I have no explanation of why it is working for me,but not T3.Both of us were suffering from GPS issues on this build. In going through Eri,I decided to compare it with the one from Liquid..and decided to copy/paste and rebuild/push to my phone.Rebooted and noticed that the carrier/network name was still borked but...my GPS worked. I'm sure it was just a coincidence..but decided to address your original post about editing Eri. There is something deeper affecting it as well as the other "issues: with this port. Just passing it along

As of yesterday, I made the switch to the S4....and I love it!  That said, I saw some stuff on XDA today about porting the Google Version over to our poor vzw version.

 

Jayrod, I saw this in the thread. I'm probably a little late to this party, but he had a flashable mod to fix the Verizon Wireless text.  File has been removed though...

Jayrod, I saw this in the thread. I'm probably a little late to this party, but he had a flashable mod to fix the Verizon Wireless text.  File has been removed though...

I had tried it and it didn't work.

Like I said above.. It's not Eri. Hell..I don't even think it's build prop. I guess we are lucky the 4.2.2 hack even works as well as it does on VZW

Many people have tried different things.. And that Eri fix has been posted multiple times.

If you look at the stock TW ROM,the Eri is not written like you would normally see..and the GED is exactly the same..even in the "fixed" ones...and it somehow works on stock. The Jar files are being torn apart to try and get signal bars working as well as the actual reporting of the data signal. Mine was locked at -113 but yet I was pulling down 30+mb . I'm pretty sure that the issues on the hacked GED are kernel related seeing as it was patched together with a custom TW kernel.. as well as the fact it was pulled from a dump for a different carrier, but that's up to people much smarter than me to decide. Until either someone such as liquid or CM,etc. tear into the inner workings or people with Experience devices start digging, it's probably a lost cause to get these bugs worked out. On a positive (I think), some of the GED code has already been commented into CM10 and the distros that pull from it..so who knows what goodies that could bring.

Now..as far as the 4.3 leak..yeah..not sure what to say since most are complaining about battery drain...but at least it's kinda sorta root able now. Since nobody seems to have ripped it apart and ported to VZW..who knows.
