Hi all,
I just wanted to share this way to change the Safestrap initial splash image. This is an easy thing to do and does not require any flashing.
What you'll need:
- Rooted device running Safestrap.
- Image editor (Photoshop, GIMP, etc.).
- A root explorer app install on your stock ROM (ES File Explorer, etc.) with R/W permissions (In ES File Explorer press menu>root explorer>mount R/W and select R/W column).
What to do:
- Create your images. The files must be a .png file with a 540x960 resolution.
- The file names need to be "background-safe.png" and "background-nonsafe.png"
- Put these two .png files on your ext SD card.
- Reboot into the stock ROM.
- Using your root explorer, with R/W permissions, navigate to your SD card and copy the image files.
- Navigate to /System/etc/safestrap/res
- Paste the two images. Overwrite the existing images - Make a back up of the originals if you wish.
- Ensure permissions are rw- r-- r-- by checking the image properties.
- Reboot and profit!
You might also want to change the boot logo (Red "M") to match. For instructions on how to do this, go here:
Here is an example of the two Safestrap initial images:
"background-safe.png" and "background-nonsafe.png".
Here are the original splash screen images if you lose them:
