have read a couple posts about root, looks like the terminal method from the last ICS leek may not be needed. Good newsFoxfi still works also. In case anybody was wondering. Also, I rooted with motofail on a stock fresh .181 install, updated su binaries then protected root with voodoo ota. I DID NOT temp unroot. Just installed the leak and went back to Voodoo and restored root like a pro.!

I think its a hit or miss. Some restore root like I did with voodoo and others terminal. Luckily we have both options

If I had the .173 fastboot files I`d help out by checking, but I only have the .744 and it works. I just don`t wanna have the go all the way back again or download a big file. Yea, but the .744 works for me.I am on this link and trying to fastboot back to a .173 can anyone help me, fastboot doesnt seem to work?

If you root with Motofail as stated in the OP, then no terminal needed is 100% correct.have read a couple posts about root, looks like the terminal method from the last ICS leek may not be needed. Good news

Not gonna post anything here but I can say that .85 is nice. Never tried .84 cuz I didn't know about it. TBH, since .85 was built the next day after .84, it seems like anyone jumping on .84 is wasting time because there was obviously something changed or fixed or Moto would not have built another version so quickly.
With that said, I found one thing I do not like on .85 and was wondering if this is also missing on .84. The power widget is still there but they have done away with the individual toggles. For me, I do not need the full power widget taking up space on my screen so I liked using the individual BT and WiFi toggles but they are no longer an option on .85.

But if I flash this then I won't have the pleasure of waking up and seeing an update blinking on my phone when it gets pushed (in a few weeks). Oh, RSD here I come.

Don't worry. Considering there is already a newer version, this built is not going to be the official ota so you will still have the pleasure of rsd back again for that "blinking update". Lol

It was already tested. I stated it all in my post. I tested RSD, Recovery, Nand backups/restores, regaining root. Everything.
Yeah that was a pretty crappy move on their part, I was following your thread, refreshed then it was deleted.
