I got a way to get back to 181!!!!

1)power down your phone
2)take a hammer
3)smash the phone.
4)call verizon and file a $89 insurance claim.
5)feel relieved. Its flawless!

Lmao.....true.

If these leaks are on Moto's servers, then somebody has to be testing them. Since the leaks are incremental, someone had to test 84 & give a bug report & then upgrade to 85 to see if those bugs were fixed. There has to be a way for these testers to move between versions, whether it's downgrading to 181 or just upgrading. So we need to discover what method these testers are using. I would think that they would have to be testing with consumer devices to ensure an accurate test, right?

There may even be a newer version by now, but with the fiasco that's taken place with this one everyone is too scared to post anything else.

Lemme breakout my forbidden dessert & see what I can see.

It's probably just an unlocked bootloader. Which we don't/can't have.

But wouldn't that defeat the purpose of testing on true consumer devices?

Not by any means at all. The unlocked units Moto use are identical to consumer units the only difference is the bootloader being locked or not. And by it being unlocked this allows them to be able to flash anything they want to the device at anytime. I've personaly owned many unsecured Moto units so I do know how it all works on there end.

Moto would rather the consumer to buy another phone with unlock capabilities, because they suck.

I also have the prime and used the unlock tool. Its now forever mine

My Moto Xoom has an unlocked bootloader and is on Verizon's network. We don't have any problems with this but Moto won't unlock this bootloader. Complete BS.

Different type of device is why. The only reason why the Droid 1 & XOOM from Moto were unlocked is because they were sold as Google Experience devices just like the Gnex is. Motos internal policy is to lock ALL devices unless under a special circumstance like being an Experience device. That said IMHO and knowing Moto stuff for so long I highly doubt we will ever see Motos ship with unlocked bootloaders.

I guess I'm one of the lucky/unlucky, I flashed this before it was pulled. I'm running on 84 and A0.74.

Luckily I don't have any problems (except for Temple Run) with this. I just don't like this feeling of being stuck.

So do I pull out the hammer and make up BS or do I wait in the hopes this can be remedied? I really don't want to go through the hassle of getting another phone. How long are the warranties? (I just got the maxx barely a month ago)

I am in the same boat as you. Mine is working great and I love it. Stay your ground. They will find a fix once the official OTA comes out to get us all back to normal and on the OTA path. It's only been a few days. Hang in there. I am a noob and have only been a member of this site for a short time. But in that time, I have seen some pretty amazing things by some very smart people in here. Have faith.

I concur. Remember that Evo users in 2010 were 100% screwed when they flashed a simple rom... 2 weeks after that, they were fixed.

Just be patient. History always repeats itself.

I wonder what they do for soak testers that get jacked up? I think that info might be useful to know.

Which might also mean they can reflash consumer units since they have the bootloader encryption keys right?
