But the bootloader isn't the problem, the old bootloaders flash just fine, it's just that the partition table isn't compatible with GB's.

Interesting. I thought it was the bootloaders were incompatible with our fastboot files. Is the engineering build posted to XDA of any use to us?

Agreed...u would think rsd could overwrite the new bl with the old one.....the rom did so why not? But in layman's terms new bl means bye bye gb...

I'm not looking for layman's. I can literally go back and manually flash an old BL. The fail during RSD is on two files related to partitioning and the locations of data, basically. ICS's update changed the size of chunks of data and we can't put it back.

Absolutely not; in that case it IS the locked bootloader, because those are signed with "test-keys" and not "release-keys".

The bootloader is the issue. No those engineer files will not do anything without a developer edition RAZR.

cdt.bin isn't related to the bootloader, so I don't see how the bootloader is the issue, especially since I can go and flash a previous one without a problem...unless you're talking about the use of the developer fastboot files?

But we are not putting something back, we are overwriting it altogether.

i'm losing track of what is causing what to error. most of it's just hearsay anyway bc im totally sittin' pretty on 84 with no intent to f%$k up my phone. flashed it without thinking, saw people started taking the train to bricktown, then called it right then and there. I said "sweetie, want a new phone? you can have MINE" lol

Curious.... how do u flash a bl only? A flash should overwrite correct? Say flash o6a bl and then rsd without issue.....if the bl is partitioning diff than a gb bl then the bl is the problem.

I started a thread to this end... no real resolution so everyone is so far basically stuck on whatever they flashed initially. So... yeah no one knows first-hand.

The bootloader is not the issue from what I'm told by a dev. It is the exact same issue we had on the Bionic. the CDT.bin has all the security sets in it as well as parition info and that is the problem.

And it is NOT a given that even getting the official fastboot file of the Official OTA ICS build after it rolls out will get us on track again either. We had the fastboot file of the official Bionic build and still could not get back on track. It took some magic being done by P3 and a few other devs to figure out how to get around it. Boiled down to a mix and match of things if I'm not mistaken to get up back on path. from there we could then use the fastboot file of the Official OTA update again on the Bionic.

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up! I was under the impression that the bootloader was the main issue because it was updated in the newest leaks.

For some it may not be so bad.....the new bootloader is gonna come with the ota anyway why else would it be on the last two leaks? So gb will be gone for anyone's phone who ota the ics. Once we have the fastboot files for ics we can get back on track.....and ill be honest...I love.

With the .75 file can I downgrade off of it to than receive the real ICS when it releases?

Yep as long as you only use the *.75 ICS leak you can get back on track to GB so you can take the Official OTA update of ICS once it gets pushed out. If you use either of the new leaks you will be SOL until the devs figure out some type of fix for everyone off path now. And that could be a long time off before we see that happen. Lets hope sooner then later tho. And hopefully with the Bionic problems we had getting off track that will give them some insite on how to get this fixed for ppl. Back on the Bionic is took months to get it all figured out so we could get back on track.
