All bs aside from this thread and what was tested or not is a load of garbage at the end of the day. Fact is if ANYONE chooses to use a leaked file whether tested or not you are doing so at your own risk, PERIOD. It just makes me sick this day and age how NO ONE seems to want to accept ANY respondsibility for the actions they did. Yet again this is a prime example of why I'm the lone wolf on DR who has never agreed and never will agree with posting these types of files because of this exact problem. Not my site tho so i don't make the rules, that is left to others. Bottom line is if ppl choose to use a leaked file they have to ACCEPT the fact they are pressing there luck and it is NO ONES problem but the person flashing the file as i've said. Its not Motos, VZW, any dev, online forums...etc. You choose to play you may end up paying the price.

The reality is 100 ppl could have tested this and all was perfectly fine for moving forward or backward using fastboot files. However that DOES NOT mean the the 100 and 1st person won't have a problem. I've bricked many phones over the yrs and it is what it is at the end of the day ( never returned one either I ate the cost or sat on it til a fix existed). Was my choice to mess with something I obviously shouldn't have. But to come here and make these types of comments like this was planned, or you are owed something to know devs are working on a fix is crazy. Its no ones problem to fix someone else mess up, folks knew the risk from the get go whether something was stated or not. And to think a fix will happen any time soon is living in a pipe dream to be honest IMO. We went down this same road with the Bionic leaks and many of us were off path and stuck. Yes it was finally fixed and figured out but it was months, not hrs days or even just a few wks. Are there ppl working on it YES that is a given, but when a fix will be found is anyones best guess if ever.

Edit: Sorry all but playing catch up I had to rant a minor bit. This thread I can see in some places has gotten out of hand to say the least

Gets my vote for understatement of the year...

I don't know but it seems like a bunch of newbies up in here... gotta be the first to jump on a leak that has a disclaimer clearly displayed and when things go bad they cry like a ten year old.
Get with it people! ANYTHING that is not an OEM OTA update that you get right from Moto or VZW is experimental and used at your own risk! There are NO GUARANTEES! You want a guarantee that something will work 100% and want to be able to blame someone when it does not wait for the official OTA! Why do you think these are leaks and not released yet?

Let's all just be patient and thankful that the leak isn't ridiculously unstable, which was an absolute possibility.

You said it.

If we are in fact stuck forever on 84 then i prays to the smartphone gods that some devs will feel sorry for us and throw a custom rom our way once in s blue moon.

I tend to question things I disbelieve are true. Some people cannot handle that. Sorry if you are one of those people.

Lol... OTA's aren't always 100% safe either. Its the nature of the beast. Problems with software/firmware happen! Like I've said and will say again.... no one was forced to try anything! I was working on things for the previous leak... I flashed the newest. I attempted to flash back. I am holding a brick! Does anyone else see a common denominator there? To be clear if I'm not already... lol. Each person chooses what to do for themselves. If you are holding a bricked phone... just as I am... you brought it to that point. Call it what you will... but the disclaimers are always there. If nothing else but a warning that things can go wrong. With all of that said though... I'm hoping that my understanding that this whole process had been tested... but wasn't .. isn't true!!!! Even though you can obviously tell which side of the fence I'm on, there are plenty of people out there that really don't know the what could go wrong. So they are relying on the word of whom they are looking up to for advice. As lame as that sounds its true! If a stocks broker were to tell you every single time that there were risk involved and every single time you made a trade you made a ton of money... then all of a sudden lost everything in one deal... you would be upset!!! I honestly think this is more of what you're seeing. They didn't know the true risk... some are stuck with a brick until a fix is found(if its found) so people are upset. Should there be finger pointing? Absolutely not!!!! Is it going to happen? Every single time something goes wrong! That's human nature....

wasted space on home screen, apps not working, dislike the keyboard compared to GB keyboard. some of the icons i find ugly, battery raper, restricting background data leaves a notification in your notification area you cant gett rid of, im having troubles with lots of music streaming apps (pandora, googlemusic) they dont buffer when screen is off. as soon as i turn screen on they start buffering again or after i restart the app, screen brightness at zero is a lot uglier then screen brightness at zero for GB. having flash player issues since flash is no longer supported in ics, some how my phones display used 42% of the battery in 5 hours with only 25 minutes of the screen actually being on. i dont think and i hope this isnt the official ics for razrs. im forgetting a few other issues i was having but i cant thin of them right now

Edit- slow home screen response when trying to move apps around, added bloatware, the process to uninstall apps from the app drawer, phone seems to run a little warmrt, USB connections no longer includes a charge only option, when trying to decrease volume of ringer/notification it sometimes doesn't decrease the notification sound, the process to turn of background data is tedious and a little confusing(have to enable data restriction which at default is set at 5 gigs.) Screen orientation sometimes takes a while to change (could be.phone), to access Widgets you can no longer long press home screen.

Those were all issues on the previous ICS leak too. Were you running the previous leak before this?

Also, some of those are ICS features (not even issues) ie. Cannot add widgets from the long press home screen

If I am already running the 4.0.3 leak from March 26th, is there a way to get this one? Would I be able to factory reset my phone, grab the latest OTA update, root and flash this?

Help me to understand something. The 85 leak came out after the 84. Forgive me I am a Dyslexic and all these numbers hurt my brain.

You'd have to fastboot to 181(181 fastboot is available) then proceed with the leak install as usual.

Yea bro... More like I fully understand the risk in flashing anything. Now if you actually read correctly my gripe is with the fact that if I had known I could not revert back I would have weighed my options carefully. The main thing that kept me off the first leak was the lack of flash. You're one of those I need to be right people so ok, feel good homie you're right. I am just mad that it still isn't being blown up how it should, no warnings, but then again you read all that and just chose to argue on your own point to feel good didn't you? I just want some type of big warning, and for people to say hey we are at least trying for you. I already swapped my droid out and are back on eclipse which is where I should have kept it originally. Thank you for not understanding the point but feel good, cuz you're right playa.

For one no one said i feel good about what is happening to so many folks including yourself, I actually feel bad for all you folks. For 2 your complaint is hogwash tho as far as I'm concerned and I'm not going to write a book explaining why that is.

However I will say you are barking up the wrong tree if you are going to come and make comments about me personally. You don't know me and have made peanuts for posts in this forum so I'll bite my lip at this point and NOT comment about you (or anyone else for that matter) that is not the point of posting or being here on the site. I'm far from being "one of those I need to be right people" and many here can vouch for that. I have spent countless hrs assisting folks with whatever when it comes to this stuff. I've given my phone # to ppl to call me direct, I've given my gtalk out to talk in real time .......etc. Its a hobby i enjoy and assist as much as I can when time permits these days. I've given time away, given devices away to help out folks in a bind you name it I'll do what I can. Done boatloads of testing for many different devs & themers. So next time before you start making comments about members of the site best think otherwise. I'll be the adult and bite my lip.

My gripe about the post was if you honestly think this site or whoever would put something out on PURPOSE on the site that is going to cause do harm to others you are just clueless then. And everybody knows the risk involved, and no one can know every situation on what may or may not work on different devices. I know the owners and other main ppl involved in the site and have known them for a long time. That would NOT happen, PERIOD. This is just one of those things that can happens when messing with leaks. There is NOWAY to know it couldn't happen, and you can't change the past. All the testing in the world doens't mean there wont be an issue. A prime example would be back on the Droid X, Moto/VZW approved a software build. They pushed it via OTA and many consumers that owned devices got bricked because of the update. So that in of itself goes to show how this can go on stuff like this no matter what was stated in a thread/post. Fact is this was tested as any leak is always tested. I know of 5 ppl who tested and fastboot back without issue. Then it goes live and we have an issue now, which sucks bad for many of the folks now stuck as i stated. This is one of the reason why I'm the odd ball of the bunch on the site that does not agree with leaks, but it is not my place to make the decision on what goes or doesn't go.

Stay away from the latest leak (.84 and. 85) you will not be able to restore your phone back
o any other build.

+1... as far as you personally know it was tested. That makes me feel all warm and cuddly inside! ;) lol... honestly though people each device is different. If they tested... they tested. Hopefully what we can all take from this is the ones that truly don't respect the risk... will!!!!

It amazes me how people feel "entitled" on every dev forum. Whether you're a n00b, or extremely experienced, things are bound to happen. Leaks are what they are, just like ROMS are what they are... Everything is a WIP with Android, which is what makes it beautiful...

I doubt when the OTA is released that you will be able to go back to 173 or 181. New kernels are not compatible with the old system. With the locked bootloader everyone is screwed since all 3 of the ICS leaks are written to load from 173 or 181. I would bet once 4.04 would be released or 05 then whoever is stuck now will probably be able to load it up, or when the 4.03 files are released ot the public for fastboot.

Just my thoughts....

I downloaded the leaks but im too scared to install them now after listening to everybody. I have the first release of the full version of the razr restore file of gingerbread thats the same exact version that came preinstalled on the razr. Does anybody have problems going back to that version from the leak? I installed the first icecreame sandwich leak and returned to stock with no problems at all. I dont know if others have the same version of the full restore file i have or not, and what version of razr. I have the first razr release not the maxx. Im impatient too for the Motorola release to be pushed out, its hard to wait. I think i read it will be released around the end of may. You cant install any of the ics relases from gummy, dt, droidt3ory or others comming from the leaks, i tried that and the roms installed but when i booted my razr all i got was black screen and had to return to gingerbread usind rdlite.
