What drives up insurance cost is stolen phones not bricked ones.

OK if someone wants to try this they can I fixed a friends RAZR with thus method.

1) uninstall all your drivers + MotoHelper.
2) Reinstall driver's and reboot pc.
3) Get the 173 system.img and the grfs, aka webtop from 173 fastboot files as well.
4) Open a cmd window on PC, where you put the two files. "Make sure you have the moto-fastboot files".
5) Put phone in AP fastboot mode.
6) Type moto-fastboot.exe flash grfs grfs.img
7) Type moto-fastboot.exe flash system system.img
8) Type moto-fastboot.exe reboot

This will flash the 173 system and webtop on your phone. You will still have the ics kernel and radios. After you boot up now try running RSD Lite, the 173 package, with the swapped out XML file. You can get all the stuff needed to do this in my thread "How to unbrick your RAZR, go back to stock"

Like I said my friend got it to work I don't no if it 100% will but its worth a shot.

I'm currently out with my family visiting a family member in the hospital so I have no access to a PC.

Good luck and god speed.

All DEV'S are looking at multiple ways to fix this issue. I can assure you that we are doing anything we can and reaching out to all resources we have. Thus is are main priority, and hope to have a fix as soon as we can. I thank the kind emails I have received from some of you, with your support. Everyone at DROIDRZR is working are butt's off to get you guys back on path.

Thank you.

Correct me if i am wrong, but isn't the insurance something you get to cover things warranty does not? I mean it covers lost/stolen phones and last time i checked that is not manufacturers fault.

Thanks for your dedication DDX. Don't have windows so can't test it. As soon as a Linux fix is released I'll give it a shot lol

Just because I'm curious, wouldn't WineHQ allow you to try it?

Damn... I've never used webtop so j wouldn't know. What exactly happened? Did you not try a data wipe first to get out of the bootloop?

I messed up my phone, I bought a new one.

Hey Maxx owners!

Does the Razr Maxx have 8gb or 16gb internel memory?

My Model number is XT912, the box says XT912M. The phone does have the big battery but only 8GB internel memory.

After I installed the new leak my Webtop phone screen would spin like a pin wheel.
Maybe it was my AWD ex launcher. I tried the stock launcher but it was the same.

under storage it says, App Storage Available space 2.73 GB
Internal Storage Total space 8.00GB, Available 7.77gb
and the phone came with a 16GB SD card

Verizon says this:The Droid Razr MAXX by Motorola is configured with 16GB of internal flash memory. Of this memory, 8GB is available for general storage. An additional 2GB is available for application download and application data. The balance of the memory is reserved for the operating system, user interface, and native applications.

I was just wondering if they gave me a RAZR with a big battery.........

DO NOT DO IT!
that was the path that led me to bricking my Razr

edit. I did do a backup with Razr Bootstrap on the 84 leak, then I tried restoring the old leak and F'ed up

Ok, here is my take on this whole situation. I'm a regular dude. Not a nerd, but not dumb. I mess with electronics because I find it fun. I've flashed firmware on mad stuff with no problems at all, from 360 to psp's, the list is endless. So like I said, nothing special, but not retarded. I take full responsibility for flashing this, that being said. I lost such a huge amount of faith in this site, I don't even know what to think. Allow me to explain in a non disrespectful objective manner. I am new here. I don't interact much because I am a loner in real life and that translates to the internet oddly enough. I have flashed every single rom on this site and have donated to the three devs that produced something I would actually purchase in real life. So I am not a leech and I support hard work. Being a contributing member to the community I would like to think that there is that unspoken understanding. Everyone makes mistakes, heck I do all the time. However, I fully read the warning. Though I am bringing my phone back to verizon anyway, these guys are really slow here so, sorry? Point being is there was nothing, and still nothing listed about this error. I even laughed when I read this was an isolated incident on certain phones? It seems to me this is a huge widespread problem, though I won't argue symantecs. I tried to fastboot back well before people started posting and now my phone is, even with that "fix". At the point where a bunch of people as in almost everybody started complaining there should have been some huge warning posted. Was this planned? I just don't see why there is nothing extra being posted about this HUGE problem. I would feel more comfortable knowing that some of the devs I gave money too are working to rectify this, rather then reading an all caps rant about feeling tortured over a bunch of kids not appreciating something you didn't do. Say what you want but this is all fact. I have to assume this was planned if there is no warning posted about this still. I feel very betrayed, I feel worse for the people that can't do anything because their local verizon workers are too smart. From here on out I will be strictly leeching from this site until I am either assured that there was someone working damn hard to fix this, or some BIG warning gets posted against this. You lost the trust of a solid guy, just had to say it.

All bs aside from this thread and what was tested or not is a load of garbage at the end of the day. Fact is if ANYONE chooses to use a leaked file whether tested or not you are doing so at your own risk, PERIOD. It just makes me sick this day and age how NO ONE seems to want to accept ANY respondsibility for the actions they did. Yet again this is a prime example of why I'm the lone wolf on DR who has never agreed and never will agree with posting these types of files because of this exact problem. Not my site tho so i don't make the rules, that is left to others. Bottom line is if ppl choose to use a leaked file they have to ACCEPT the fact they are pressing there luck and it is NO ONES problem but the person flashing the file as i've said. Its not Motos, VZW, any dev, online forums...etc. You choose to play you may end up paying the price.

The reality is 100 ppl could have tested this and all was perfectly fine for moving forward or backward using fastboot files. However that DOES NOT mean the the 100 and 1st person won't have a problem. I've bricked many phones over the yrs and it is what it is at the end of the day ( never returned one either I ate the cost or sat on it til a fix existed). Was my choice to mess with something I obviously shouldn't have. But to come here and make these types of comments like this was planned, or you are owed something to know devs are working on a fix is crazy. Its no ones problem to fix someone else mess up, folks knew the risk from the get go whether something was stated or not. And to think a fix will happen any time soon is living in a pipe dream to be honest IMO. We went down this same road with the Bionic leaks and many of us were off path and stuck. Yes it was finally fixed and figured out but it was months, not hrs days or even just a few wks. Are there ppl working on it YES that is a given, but when a fix will be found is anyones best guess if ever.

Edit: Sorry all but playing catch up I had to rant a minor bit. This thread I can see in some places has gotten out of hand to say the least
