Re. ad blocking:

That's easy - delete the /etc/hosts file.... but do you REALLY want to do that??

Adblocking is simply assigning all of the qualified host names of ad providers to 129.0.0.1 (localhost).. nothing more.

The ads don't bother me nearly as much as the web sites I go to not working correctly.

Thanks for the info, love the rom.

I went into settings and checked the box to turn it on... I'm not sure that I'm doing anything different... Except I'm using the moto launcher so I can use the circles widget

My phone won't rotate at all and I don't know why, and Auto rotate is on too. Any ideas?

Download gapps - see post #2

IF you haven't installed custom recovery (TWRP/CWM), please proceed no further and do some research on how to install it (or look up nexus 7 toolkit)

if you have, boot to recovery, BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP your current system on sdcard

Clean - means wipe system, cache, and dalvik cache - Also perform a factory reset if this is the first install of this rom.

Flash rom and gapps one after the other.

Reboot,, proceed through signin process

Profit!

so i did my best to install twrp from post #2 but how do i know if i was successful? i notice on post #2 it has 2 similar steps one after the other.  I went step by step from the top, and stopped when it said "your finished" i didnt proceed to follow this step "If you're really feeling brazen and are only using a Moto, Nexus, or HTC device. You could use fastboot to achieve the same deal. I find it to be a lot more work. But others for some reason find it to be easier. IDK? Anyway

. Only this time you will need an additional package that includes not only ADB files but also the Fastboot binary.

should i follow these steps again? someone please help.

the best way to install TWRP is to download their recovery .img file from

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

Then flash it via fastboot: fastboot flash boot twrp-2.5.0.0-recovery-vanquish.img

I'm going to update the instructions to make this more clear for RAZR HD users. Thanks for the heads-up!

You'll know it works this way:

phone is off, hold down both volume buttons and power at the same time until fastboot menu comes up

vol - until you hit recovery, vol + to boot into recovery

if TWRP starts, you're set... otherwise, reset and go into bootloader and fastboot flash until it works.

Check for an auto rotation feature in the launcher or ROM settings. I use Nova launcher and have to activate auto rotation from it in order for the rotation to work.

Not working for me...

Built-in wifi tether - gets stuck while turning it on
Foxfi - starts up but AP is not visible to any device
Wifi Tether for Root User app - was able to start it using default JB wlan0 setting, and changing setup method to netd, but again, AP in not visible.

If we could figure out how to get this working, it would be huge! ;-)

I had that problem on the older build. The newest one gives you your rotation. Maybe it was a code that wasn't put in but ever since I flashed the 516 build I believe , it's been fine.

To be safe, I'd wipe dalvik and cache... other than that it'll be just fine!

Is it just marked 925 because it's a mistake or because you accidentally put a925 there?

The 925 is the GSM version. I've also posted a 926 from yesterday.
