There is one step I took I don't see the rest of you taking which is first fixing permissions in Rom manager then rebooting to recovery top fix permissions there.
This worked perfectly! I didn't even think about using ROM Manager to fix permissions. Videos working great now. Thank you!

I tried it with rom manager and recovery and I still receive the error.

I still have the video issue in the gallery also. I'm on the latest update and I Have tried different kernels but all have the same issue.

The kernel, specifically, is pretty much the fix. You're not going to have much success with different kernels unless they revert the same commits.

Which kernel? Which one are you using?

Oh I thought you had a specific one. Yes I already did , twice. I only brought up trying an alternate kernel to see if that would fix the issue but it didn't. Currently running the kernel bundled with this ROM but the video playback is still not working.

OK, so I edited a lot of that quote out...... I have had to rest my phone over 8 times and the past 5 days. I continue to lose my data and don't even dare use Titanium Backup anymore since each time I did that it took t-minus 2 minutes until my phone automatically started to reboot itself.
The phone worked semi-well for about a day and a half until about 10 minutes ago. I have gotten the error before, but this time it wouldn't go away... I had to restart my phone and wipe data in recovery to get the Onager Launcher has stopped error.
The other thing was that google search would not work. Whenever I tried (or accidentally hit) the microphone in texts or to google search online, the phone would turn off and reboot..... ?????
I can't figure out how to get the phone to vibrate when you hit the keyboard for texting/searching?
...
Most of all, I haven't been able to go more than a day or two without either the phone restarting itself, or having to restore and/or wipe everything because its all f**ked up.. Any insight would be much appreciate... Time to go restart again.
I have the exact same issues as I left in... The Rom is good to me for 2+ weeks (except for the Google search not working) and then I start getting these other issues. I have used the 5/28?, 6/18 and 7/4 versions of this Rom each with the same end result. The May and the July versions I tried both with and without bytecode's code kernel most current versions (R5 and N40 at the time), no difference.
It always takes about 2 weeks. With the July 4th version, this past Friday, the phone stated rebooting every time I opened the app list. After three reboots (while I was using it for GPS) it never finished booting. Just hung on the logo. Wiped cache and dalvik, and still would not boot. So I did a system restore on my last known good 6/18 version.
I am flashing the 7/19 after I post this, as my last known good was 2 days before that one went wonky.
I think it is the handset, not the Rom. Mine is a refurb warranty replacement/upgrade.
Every flash I factory reboot, wipe caches before and after install (because I don't want any issues to carry over). Before I flashed the 5/28? And 6/18 I also wiped all data. I'll try permissions too this time.
Just wanted to say it is not a one off

I'm having a weird issue with audio playback that seemingly just happened with 7/19 release and I'm wondering if anyone else is having it. Basically when I play audio (have tried with podcasts through Beyondpod and Music through Apollo and Play Music) the audio will randomly jump either forward or back. I've tried it with audio files on my SD card, on my internal storage, and streaming.
I tried reflashing the ROM (wiped system, cache, and dalvik cache), rebooting, just clearing cache without reinstalling the ROM and fixing permissions through TWRP (although I don't think that worked since the fix was done in like 2 seconds).
I'm going to do some more testing but just in case this doesn't work does anyone have the version before the 7/19 one? I can't remember if it was 7/18 or 7/17.

Same issue with audio on 7/19. Was not having it on 7/14. It doesn't matter if it's bluetooth or phone speaker, audio skips around. Very bizarre.
Also still can't play videos with 7/19. Oh, and one final thing, it seems that LTE toggle tile in the 4.2-style toggles pulldown is what is causing my phone to switch back to LTE/GSM and require me to go into *#*#4636#*#* and set it back to LTE/CDMA.

Well, if nothing else I'm glad someone else is having it so I can hopefully rule out hardware problems. Hopefully we can find an older version and go back to it. I honestly wasn't having any problems with the old versions so I wouldn't mind going back to them.

So you can't toggle back with the lte button? I'll have to look into this one.
As for the audio... no idea. Works perfectly for me. I can only do so much without gutting the kernel, at this point. I could revert everything (except the linux upgrades) back to july 4 and see what that would do...

Could you reupload the 7/14 version? I'd be happy to just revert to that or whichever one came before 7/19. Unfortunately I was dumb and not only upgraded without making a backup but I deleted every old version I had except for 7/4.

Can't toggle back, have to go into the testing menu to fix it.
Hm, yeah, I had working bluetooth & regular audio on 7/14, but the video playback issue was new ... bummer

I put in some things that may or may not fix the LTE toggle, but unfortunately I'm kept from putting out a device update until our next full release....
