OK, before I begin, I'd like to say that I really feel for you guys that have had the blue flashes for so long.
You should know that this new ROM update will not make them go away. I did a factory reset and they appeared to me for the first time.
HOWEVER. I do have a fix, and it will be implemented in the next version.
You can perform the fix if you have a root explorer/editor/propmodder program.

In build.prop, change the following line:
debug.composition.type=dyn (or c2s or whatever you have there)

to:
debug.composition.type=gpu

This should make your blue flashes stop.

That said, the new ROM update (before I make the build.prop changes baked in):

No look... Still flashes more than a stripper... Ive fastboote the phone entirely, flashed different kernels, reset the phone 6 times and still get the blue gills

insert this into your build.prop:

debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=2

and reboot.

see if that helps

Actually, I tried flashing the (2) version of the 18th and did get the blue flicker, and was going to add that build prop change, but I just rebooted and now the flashing's gone.

EDIT: Nope, it's back, I'm diving in.

Added the 2 lines to the build prop, rebooted, and voila!  No more blue strobe screen!  Thanks for the heads up!

I didn't change the build.prop of the first one, I just added the 2nd one at that seem to fix it for me on a different ROM. So far so good. Thanks

Totally ---, I've been clicking F5, Ctrl-TAB, F5 all day...

I'm guessing this is still really just a workaround, and that the true fix needs to be in the kernel.  Anyone know if someone is working on that, and if there's any help (logs, testers etc.) that they need??

I edited my build prop with debug.mdpcomp.maxlayer=2 and I'm still getting the blue screen of crap. Any suggestions?
