but i want to try the radio thing because if it works i would not wait for GSM version for each ROM. i am having xt926 but using it out of USA, and for some reason i do not know, i can not get data on 4.2.2 anymore although all the previous versions Fuzion, wWidow, Rage was working flawlessly. starting 4.2.2 only GSM ROMs working normal on my mobile.

 

that is why i want to try to flash xt925 radio, it might help

Man, if the tethering worked I would flash this as fast as I could download it. But I use that all the time. Camcorder I could do without, I have been on the carbon port. Definitely watching this though

OK maybe someone can un-noob me I downloaded the newest zip with gapps wiped mounted and tried to flash and it gave me a message . installing system files
Symlink:some symlinks failed
E:error executing updater binarys in zip '/sdcard
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/goomanager/update xenon such and such

Wtf am I noobing wrong ? Oh yea xt926 rooted unlocked twrp

try to re-download the zip, maybe bad download, i think you don't need to mount the system either

You don't need to mount system... in fact it probably didn't work if you did. Re download the zip and try again

Trust me - it's worth the effort!

The two files are similar, that is they are both XenonHD ROMs, the newer version is an update that was put out last night, see post #10, here

Yeah, no big changes except for apns in the update. I'm going to eventually delete all the older versions and leave the latest version up, especially with all these minor changes that really don't impact much.

Heck yea! thanks for your help man I've had to mount the sys before flashing every ROM prior to this one I guess it became second nature anyway I'm all blazing fast and buttery smooth now thanks!

If some could that is running this on their xt926 try using this app "WiFi tether for root users" and see if that works.

It doesn't run using wifi tether, smiggers - the AP fails to load. We're looking into the problem, it appears to be common among msm8xxxx platforms at this time.

noob question. how do install the rom after i downloaded "updated-xenonhd-05-13-13-signed-xt926"

Download gapps, boot into recovery,(make a backup if not already done so) wipe, flash ROM and gapps ,reboot. My exact steps and I'm buttery fast and super smooth ! Lol

Download gapps - see post #2

IF you haven't installed custom recovery (TWRP/CWM), please proceed no further and do some research on how to install it (or look up nexus 7 toolkit)

if you have, boot to recovery, BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP your current system on sdcard

Clean - means wipe system, cache, and dalvik cache - Also perform a factory reset if this is the first install of this rom.

Flash rom and gapps one after the other.

Reboot,, proceed through signin process

Profit!
