There is no error it says it is connected on both devices but I can't open or use anything that requires data. This is using the hotspot or usb tether. The wifi app from the store just won't connect it says it is obtaining ip address then it stops and won't connect

Have you tried disabling tether boost in crossbreeder?

Open a terminal app and try using this command:

su -c /system/etc/CrossBreeder/REMOVE_TETHER_BOOST

Then reboot. See if that makes a difference.

working fine, but you gotta take the JB OTA update to update your kernel.

1. install rootkeeper

2. make sure SU is up to date

3. switch to your stock rom, and uninstall safestrap bootloader

4. run rootkeeper

5. install JB OTA update

6. restore root with rootkeeper

7. reinstall safestrap

8. flash!

I'm going to wipe and start from scratch I love this rom and want to use it as a dd but it is a pain switching to stock to tether. Hopefully a reinstall will fix it.

Mines doing the same thing. Tried tethering my laptop over WiFi and BT. WiFi shows the laptop is connected to the net, but when I open ie it won't open any pages. Verified the value for entitlement check is 0 through root browser. Tried removing tether boost by running the script through ROM toolbox, that didn't help either. Haven't tried USB tether yet.

JP WiFi tethering works fine. In fact I am posting this using my tablet that is tethered to my phone right now. TLS is ROCKING the house on this one. Been using this as a daily and so far everything I use my bionic for works awesome. The only thing I miss is DSP manager. Loved the way Incarus ran it and sound adjustments were able to be made playing Pandora on bluethooth headset. Thanks for your support on this device and will be looking forward to the OTA updates.

So it seems to be an issue only for some. In my experience with tethering, you do have to wait a while after it connects for it to connect to the internet. I'm not sure why, but that's how it is.

Yea and I've noticed the Windows 7/8 also takes a while to verify that the connection is valid and can reach the internet. I've also seen said OS mark the connection as limited when it's not.

Well I did a re install this time I got the Triton wallpaper first time I didn't have it.  I wiped it over and over to make sure it was a good install if I wiped it anymore you would say I was playing with it.  Setting it up now I will let you know if I can tether.  To all that have the hot spot can you also use wifi tether from the market mine would never connect but it did on stock JB.

have you tried using a different slot? It probably shouldn't matter but it couldn't hurt either.

Hmm... that is one that I haven't tried.  I will probably try flashing it in slot 1 as I know that has mattered before, but I won't be able to do it today.

Tried flashing to a brand new Slot 1 today.  Same result - setup dies when it gets to the Gmail portion (right after location permissions) and won't open gmail or google play.
