I am running a 4.2.2 rom.
I used terminal emulator from the market to calibrate WiFi. When I open terminal emulator I typed in wifical.sh applied it then closed it using icon on top right of screen.
Next I used free Wifi tether from market.
Set device profile to jb wlan0
enabled access control
check off routing fix if its not already.....
So far it works with wifi tether for root users. It runs at 12 Mbps when its busy during the day and 20mb speeds late at night . You can get it free from the play store if its not already on the rom you use.
****A glitch I noticed...Even if I set the passphrase on the app when I log on the tablet im using (Nexus10) it does not make me put in the password. That is why to be safe we make sure we enable access control..... this way nobody will get service without you saying ok on your phone....
